My first reaction to the Starr report was that Clinton should
resign. I did not feel that he should be impeached - it takes too
long and paralyzes the Congress.
Now I have read the report (including footnotes) and I have come
to the inescapable conclusion that the abject depravity of the
man is overwhelming-he MUST be impeached. I defy anyone, even a
Democrat, who has read Starr's report to conclude otherwise-it
reads like one of the old "dimeys."
The cigar story is nauseating. His call for the dismissal of the
Secret Service agent that caused the Lewinsky hissy fit at the
North Gate is mind numbing. Currie letting her in and not
recording it in the traffic log?
The Secret Service timing and making book on how long it would
take for him to reach the Oval Office after Monica was
admitted-how this kind of garbage could go on in the nation's
home staggers the imagination. Nighttime phone sex (whatever that
means, and I don't want to know) right from the White House is
appalling. He has disgraced the nation and all it has ever stood
for.
Democrats who are now joining with him in his tactics to delay
and/or withhold evidence (such as fighting the release of the
video tape) have become part of the problem and are equally
guilty. They ought to go with him, and good riddance.
Starr's report is meticulous in detail and thorough in
content-the man deserves an award for his work in the face of
constant ridicule from Clinton and his allies. And I'm encouraged
that, contrary to the Democrat's spin, Starr's investigations
into Whitewater, Travelgate, Filegate et al are far from over-I
suspect the Clintons have even worse storms to weather, Hillary
in particular.
As to the polls-I know only one woman who actually got polled.
First she was asked what she thought of the market's rise during
the Clinton administration-she said that she was pleased with it.
Then she was asked (and I quote) "Then you must believe that
the president has done a good job, correct?" So much for
polling data!
Impeach the jerk, and ASAP. Gore's a jerk too, but as far as I
know, not an immoral one.
