Gov. Paul LePage?
Sounds a little strange doesn't it? And not just because the title Gov. has never graced a Franco-American name in Maine. No, the main reason is that only a few weeks ago few politicians in either party thought that this tough-minded businessman -- even though very successful -- had the political skills to win the Blaine House.
Neither did lots of ordinary voters who considered themselves fairly sophisticated politically. (Disclosure: I supported Steve Abbott.) But LePage showed us all up in the primary, which he won by a surprisingly lopsided margin.
