It doesn't seem so many years ago that Maine political pundits like the Press Herald's Jim Brunelle loved to needle the Republicans for the lack of French names on their tickets.
That was true back when mill towns like Biddeford and Lewiston could still be counted on to turn out huge majorities for the Democrats each election. But that was then and today times are changing rapidly in the state's very large Franco-American community.
