Enough politics, I need a break for a bit. How 'bout a generic gun thread?
I finally got out for an hour last Sunday and shot my .43 Spanish Rolling Block. I couldn't even find the paper, I think I need bigger bullets - the .439s shaved when I loaded them into the brass and were and rattling down the bore like coal down a coal chute then keyholing, and the thing kicked like a mule. Life is good.
I would like a shootable trapdoor if anyone has one for $400-600, must be all original and hopefully with the cleaning rod. Bore should have rifling and the stock in decent shape, but it should have some charachter.
A Krag would be nice, too.
Or a Snider conversion from IMA:
Or maybe I should hold off buying for a while and save up my pennies for a nice transferrable MAC-9:
and hope the Strimling crowd doesn't take it away from me after I plunk the bucks down and pay my transfer tax. With the 100-round white box of Winchester FMJ still going for about $13 at Wal-mart, the Mac-9 is an economical choice for the casual shooter, I think.
On the national front -
"U.S. Senator John Thune (R-S.D.) has introduced S. 388 "“ the equivalent of H.R. 226 "“ which is a national Right-To-Carry bill for reciprocity for state carry licensees for concealed weapons. In short, any person with a valid concealed carry permit issued by a state would be recognized to legally carry in any other state. The bill would require states to officially recognize each other's carry permits just like nationwide recognition of your driver's license."
Cabin fever. I might just load up my BB gun and take a few pops outside this weekend to stay loose.
