Other rumors include all concession foods made entirely from hand-harvested kelp (food source, White House Organic Garden), and festive attire made from hemp for the Democratic masses in attendance. Lapel badges optional, since the pins used to attach them are considered weapons by the Democratic Committee for the Preservation and the Extension of Personhood members, who dislike anything sharp and pointy (especially debate).

I saw David Axelrod interviewed by Mike Wallace last night, and also the chairman of the Democratic Party. Both men sounded like people who first have to convince themselves of what they are saying before they can convince anyone else. Axelrod looked clearly stressed out and insecure. The difference between the Republicans and the Democrats is stark. The Republicans were very clear focused and on target and clearly did not have self doubt about their own message. The Democrats just the opposite- like amateurs.
The Republican convention was holistically realized. The Talking heads haven't caught up to it yet. I heard one say that it was more about supporting the whole party than supporting Romney, but it was said with a critical tone. Supporting the whole party is the point. DUH! We need to get the House AND the Senate. The cohesiveness of the current republican party was on display during the convention and in case you didn't notice, the personal testimony of people who have long known Romney laid a lot of stress on the importance integrity plays for Romney. When he took office as governor he posted the list of election promises on the wall and then asked his team to figure out how they were going to meet them- So while the poser campaigned on "changing the culture of Washington"- not so Romney- but he might actually do it.
There couldn't be a man more opposite in character from the vain-glorius Obama. The convention convinced me of the opinion I was already forming- that Romney is a man of modest character with actual skills and executive ability and he is a good man, in the same way that a lot of Americans are good people and so he is also the opposite of Obama in being a genuine representative of the American people and the American character.
Thank you, MacKenzie.
I first became convinced that Romney had to be a man of exceptional character back in 2006, when he refused to allow any Massachusetts troopers or other state resources to be used for a visit to Harvard by Iranian despot Khatami.
As Massachusetts Governor, Romney could have done the PC thing, and simply provided state security and an escort, but he refused. To me, that said a great deal about his character, and his willingness to stand by what he believed was right.
The political party that has decreed that needing IDs to vote is "racist" is requiring IDs for admittance to their convention.
"As Massachusetts Governor, Romney could have done the PC thing, and simply provided state security and an escort, but he refused. To me, that said a great deal about his character, and his willingness to stand by what he believed was right."
or
As candidate for Governor of Massachusetts, Romney did the PC thing, declaring himself Pro-Choice, supporting same-sex marriage, and promising universal healthcare, then changing those positions and doing the party PC thing. To me that said a great deal about his character, and his willingness to change what he believes in to get elected.
A QED could be in order, but I'll hold it at bay.
Naran: I remember exactly the same event, and I was stunned by what he did.

Democrats are poised to avoid the danger of President Barack Obama accepting his party’s nomination before a partially-empty stadium by shifting his speech to an indoor arena and citing ‘severe weather’.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2198206/Democrats-set-Obamas-big...
Democrats set to move Obama's big speech from 74,000-seater outdoor stadium to 20,000-seater indoor arena
In 2008, when Obama fever was at its height, the then US Senator had no trouble filling an 84,000-seater outside stadium in Denver, Colorado. But voter enthusiasm has waned this time around.
------------
An empty stadium to welcome an empty suit who sits in an empty chair making empty promises.....theme for the DNC: Empty Heads Cheer Empty Seat!
Even the Democratic convention workers are saying the reason for the switch of venues has nothing to do with the weather.
How many attended the Republican Convention last week?
:)
Ten fewer than should have.

Outrage as top Democrat official compares Paul Ryan to Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels
By Daily Mail Reporter

....top Democrat...taking heat after he likened ...Paul Ryan... to... Nazi.
... Chairman .... California Democratic Party, John Burton, compared (Ryan) ... to Joseph Goebbels....
....snip
'They lie and they don't care if people think they lie. As long as you lie, Joseph Goebbels, the big lie, you keep repeating it, you know,' Burton said....
'That was Goebbels, a big lie, they said they don't care about facts,' ... 'They're going to lie so, I mean, that’s not pejorative to them. They probably wear it as a compliment.'
************
Golly. I cannot wait for the Democratic outrage over these comments. Will Burton still be welcome at the convention, or will Obama's campaign yank his credentials?
LMAO!...
The Obama campaign rolled out the red carpet..for a former top Energy Department official who was at the center of..Solyndra....Steven J. Spinner… posing and waving for a photographer while standing behind the podium.....When approached by ABC News..he bolted for an exit....A DNC employee blocked reporters from following Spinner as he broke into a run...."You can't follow people," (the aide said)..as he held up his arms to keep the camera from filming Spinner as he left the venue. Actual poster being sold at the DNC....
I have listened to bits and pieces from speakers last night. I don't have the stamina to take the whole load, so I surf through it, just as I did during the Republican convention. The common theme I noticed was anger. Anger at the presumption of opponents to criticize Obama in any way. When you can't run on accomplishments, all roads lead to anger.
Jesus told us to "beware of false prophets".
WC
And in other news, Obama's acceptance speech has been moved from a 70,000 seat football stadium to a 20,000 seat indoor arena.
Of course, campaign honchos are citing the possibility of thunderstorms as the reason. Smart money says they were worried about filling the stadium.

"I wouldn't worry about it though, it's not a big college town."
There are plenty of empty seats in the main convention hall, as well. Not to mention the primary "empty chair," front and center on the stage.

Peter Schiff proves there is a difference between the Democrats and Republicans
No matter what they do, the D convention is coming off as a wanna-be imitation of last week's Republican convention. It's kind of sad, really. All those campaign workers and marketing professionals, staring into the looming Abyss of Unemployment.
Actually, I disagree, Naran. I do think Mitt got off a good line yesterday when he called it a "celebration of failure." And it's true that a large number of the warmup acts are unimpressive lightweights who can't do much beyond spouting the ol' class warfare cliches. Nor, do I think that Julian Castro was anywhere near as good as his R counterpart, Chris Christie.
With that said, the Dems have some things going for them that we should NOT overlook. Their stagecraft is better. Design and stage management has been absolutely first rate. They do, in fact, have a much more diverse audience that the Rs had, and that means something to a lot of people.
But they've got three big trump cards. Two have already been played. First: Michele Obama. Whether you like her or not - and I'm squarely in the second camp - one couldn't argue that she did less than a brilliant job Tuesday night. She was commanding, smooth, and clearly comfortable in the spotlight, and she owned the stage. It was a beautifully written speech and it was delivered flawlessly.
Second trump card: the ol' scoundrel himself, William Jefferson "pass me a cigar!" Clinton. Last night's speech was vintage Bill: chock full of snake oil, but delivered in such an engaging, humorous and wry way that he absolutely knocked it out of the park. In the convention hall, and no doubt in large parts of the US, there's a bunch of people this morning who wish they could have Bill back and will settle for the guy he's endorsing.
Third trump, of course, is Obama himself. We all know how good he is at this stuff. I'm going to be interested to see whether there's actually any substance in this evening's speech, or whether it will be as dependent on rhetoric and void of content as his stuff four years ago.
IMO this has been a very good convention for the Donks. And it really ups the ante for the rest of us.
I guess having to show an ID is only for Amercan Citizens, I wonder if she votes.

Following the GOP convention, the Dems are frantically reworking their speech lineup, and the "featured guest" list. Before GOP Convention? They were thinking their own event (and their candidate) would be a total cakewalk in terms of "wow" factor.
After GOP Convention?
Not so much.
