Politics and other mistakes

It's Saturday night, and you've had a few drinks at your favorite bar. Your designated driver announces it's time to leave, but before the long ride home, your kidneys demand to be tapped. You head for the restrooms, only to find the one designated for your gender is occupied. And, based on the sounds emanating from within, it's likely to remain that way for a while. After which, you probably wouldn't want to use it,...

If "separate but equal" bathrooms is unconstitutional on the basis of race, why not on the basis of sex?

If everyone promises to use only one sheet of toilet paper, Cheryl Crow will personally endorse each new loo!

I have to admit...when I was younger...and the line was WAY too long...I could be persuaded to use a guys room.....As long as one of my girlfriends kept watch (wink).

Oh I have used the women's loo when there were not women around and there were a bunch of blokes standing in a queue.

My Army unit in Germany was one of the first to have barracks with men and women together.
We only had one rather large bathroom. Urinals were off limits as they were in the open.
I believe we set a record for the number of pregnant soldiers.
However, as I was in charge of the barracks, I became the outlaw of the base because the commanding general inspected the barracks and was amazed that an army barracks could look so good. He had his aide call all company commanders and first sergeants to come see what a barracks should look like. They were appalled that male and female soldiers could live together under one roof. It was one of the best units I had ever supervised.
Guess the soldiers were happy?

So have I, Andrew...

on many occasions. No big deal really. I lock the door. The locks on the ladies room usually work better than the guys room. Walked in the guys room late one evening at Bentley's to find a cutie smiling at me as she sat there. She didn't think it was a big deal, neither did I.

Have I ever posted the story of walking into a bar with a screaming bladder only to find out that it was full of transvestites? It would have to be by private message but I have to tell you today I find just as humerous?
When one hears a comment. "Don't worry, honey, I have one.........................

What crap!! (literally)

My building has all "one-seaters". All the keys work on all the bathrooms. The Men / Women designation really only tells you which one has a urinal in it. There are no privacy issues, because of the "one seat + lock" thing.

Everybody uses every bathroom. The law would be inconvenient and stupid -- as drafted.

With that said, with regard to the big "walk ins", something like it might make sense -- if privacy is truly invaded. Still, if the other bathroom is broken, and a man hollers a warning and allows a 'decent interval' (or women, in reverse), there isn't per se a privacy issue.

People need to go. The Legislature needs to wrap their tiny brains around that. Maybe they will settle for a "use tax".

Don't bring up taxes in a thread about toilets. Next thing you know, they'll be proposing a meter be put on all toilets and we be taxed per flush!

They probably already are. I wanted the rest of the world to be ready for it when it hits "the fan".

I remember when I was down south in one of those redneck bars with the sawdust all over the floor. I was in the bathroom. There were 4 urinals on the wall and two stalls. There were 2 guys beside me, we were all doing our thing, when a girl came in. She stated that the ladies room was full and asked if we minded. The two Southerner beside me, without hesitation, said, nah, go ahead. Before I found my tongue, she was already in one of the stalls doing her thing.

That's the South. Been stationed there, too.
Too bad they don't know the difference of the sexes?

I hope you 'hovered'.
Guys, especially guys who've been drinking a bit have no qualms about 'annointing' the toilet seat...

I will admit I used a ladies room this evening in Virginia. Stopped to get gas at a convenience store and there was caution tape across the men's room door. Facing another hour in a traffic jam on the highway, I chose to use the opposite gender room. And I left the seat up when I was done!
Duprey also attracted attention in ’05 for sponsoring a bill to legalize same-sex marriage, as well as a constitutional amendment to outlaw it. I forget why that made sense.

ok people like this who waste time and money need to go.

he wants to legalize same sex marriage as well as outlaw it. ok he wants his cake and eat it too.

Get rid of this guy

Well quite a few places these days have unisex toilets which completely eliminates the problem.

Anyone remember when bus stations had public toilets, but to get in one had to deposit a nickel in a box (kind of like a parking meter) ? From that arose
Here I sit, broken-hearted. Paid a nickel, and only farted.

In college I lived in a dorm that had co-ed bathrooms. Not a pleasant experience. It would have to be in serious trouble before I would even contemplate going into a women’s restroom. That being said, I probably don’t need a law from the state to tell me not to.

Will all this lead to new building codes requiring new homes to have gender specific bathrooms?

California Assembly Bill

California Assembly Bill 1266, which was authored by Assemblyman Tom Ammiano (D), may allow public school children to choose the bathrooms or locker rooms that they want to use based upon their self-identified "gender identity."

http://www.opposingviews.com/i/society/education/california-may-allow-st...

All a guy has to do is say "I'm homosexual" to get to shower in the girl's locker room?

Now that's recruitment....
