Another mega-church pastor in trouble

(CNN) -- "Two Georgia men have filed a lawsuit claiming that prominent Atlanta, Georgia, pastor Eddie Long coerced them into sex.

The suits, filed Tuesday in DeKalb County, Georgia, allege that Long used his position as a spiritual authority and bishop to coerce young male members and employees of his New Birth Missionary Baptist Church into sex."

Imagine if these three men

Imagine if these three men lived under Sharia; they'd be facing a death sentence instead of being parties to a lawsuit.

I wonder with which political

I wonder with which political party Rev. Long is affiliated. I'm sure Tom C will be launching an immediate investigation.

Domino, are you some kind of

Domino, are you some kind of bigot? Are you trying to say that something is wrong with two gay consenting men doing whatever they want?

If he did these things, he

If he did these things, he should be removed from ministry, no matter how much good he does for young black men and the community. A very successful pastorship can be a curse - it stokes the ego.

Out of curiosity generated

Out of curiosity generated from the post above, I found:

http://www.newsmeat.com/religious_political_donations/Eddie_Long.php

So he supports democrats, as do most southern (region, not denomination) Baptist black pastors. Wondering what this has to do with it....

[url=http://www.gcmwatch.com/5381/bishop-long-facing-double-sexual-abuse-laws... Christian Movement Watch[/url] has more information about Bishop Long's history:

"Long has had an extensive history of controversy with homosexuality, taking positions both for and against."

Well, if he's a Democrat and

Well, if he's a Democrat and has supported gays, then it's all right.

The lawsuit is some kind of

The lawsuit is some kind of fishing expedition. Where is the tort? (Of course, if they were girls, it would be "Where is the tart?:-)

In this sex crazed era, imagine if any sizeable percentage of the people who had been "coerced" into stupid sex acts via inducements such as cars, luxury lodging or exotic travel DECIDED TO SUE FOR DAMAGES, once they had sobered up. The court system would collapse.

Even money this is extortion gone awry.

These happenings bring back

These happenings bring back memories of Maine's past "sinning moment", featuring Buddy Franklin of the Bangor Baptist Church. If my memory serves me right he took a backwater church and turned it into an institution with a few thousand members, a radio station and a sizable school. I also think he ran for governor. I seem to remember that he was quite a fascinating and entertaining individual. Unfortunately he suffered a "weakness for the flesh" and was forced to resign.
