And since the 1950's about every perversion, tax increase, regulation, and program designed to take from Peter to pay for Pauls vote one can think of.

Yes, I believe 'liberalism' as a concept is evil. Individual liberals are only evil if their own individual actions make them so. Most are simply sheep following the flock leaders.

You can't tell me that LIBERALS pushing for partial-birth abortion and the normalization of homosexuality and mercy killing and the removal of God from our goverment are not PURE EEEEE - VUHL

I'd be more impressed with you, Pilgrim. if you would show some sign of understanding your own capacity for evil.

For someone who is purportedly saved, you don't seem very joyful.

Snap out of it. You'll give yourself an illness.

Jesus, It's such a pleasure that you take the podium to speak for conservatives Pilgrim.
The cherry on top is the audience who cheers you on.

Mark Cenci...

even you might give some thought to looking around, taking a look at the society you live in, and then worrying about saving what is left of it...

of course, that might require turning off the Red Sox game...

but then again, this was never a society where people were much given to introspection...

too many good things in Macy and on TV...if you know what I mean...

cheerleaders at heart...you really don't know how to deal with anyone who doesn't share your Norman Vincent Peale style optimism...

just keep on smilin' and ....by the way...have a nice day....

Are you illiterate?

Read Jim V a couple posts above. He chimes in with a harmony nearly as shrill.

I simply note what is. You can characterize the idolation of government, dependence, victimhood, and perversity as 'good'. I call it evil.

Actually, we all are evil by nature- remember Adam and Eve and the infamous apple. Fortunately for us, God sent his son to die for ALL of US.

Pilgrim, anything that you say that makes sense, gets lost in threads like this. Consider this when posting your next thread.

child labor laws - Christians (Turn of the century)
civil rights - Christians
social security for the elderly - Not sure
disability benefits for the mentally disabled et al. - Not sure

No I don't know what you mean. You've mistaken me for another Mark Cenci.

'But for corruption thou hast made Belial, an angel of hostility. All his dominions are in darkness, and his purpose is to bring about wickedness and guilt. All the spirits that are associated with him are but angels of destruction.'

See, that's where you are wrong. Pilgrim has the intellectual side correct, but his presentation is so dreadful that had the Christians you cite acted then the way Pilgrim acts now, none of those things would have advanced.

There was a big difference between John Brown and William Lloyd Garrison.

There is a huge difference between Jim 's assertion that the practical outcome of a political belief (liberalism) is "evil" and Pilgrims assertion that "liberals" (ie, people) are evil. And I thought Jim did a good job of delineating that for us.

Must be wicked to live in a Blue state with a majority of evil all around you. No wonder you seem angry.
With the prospect of the state becoming even more evil I don't know why you'd remain here.
It's likely to get more evil on Tuesday.

You must get some weird victim thrill, considering all the excellent choices - like Texas.

There are plenty of liberals who really think the past 30 years of promises made were the right thing. The promises particularly made by the Maine legislature -- promises that now cannot be kept -- those who made them certainly were not and are not evil.

We are, however, dealing with the outcomes. We have a whole new class of people that are enslaved by the system, who refuse to improve their lot in life, who stay stuck in their rut for generations -- all because they don't want to lose their benefits.

"(It) induces a spiritual and moral disintegration fundamentally destructive to the national fibre. To dole out relief in this way is to administer a narcotic, a subtle destroyer of the human spirit. It is inimical to the dictates of sound policy. It is in violation of the traditions of America."

President Franklin Delano Roosevelt said this in his 1935 State of the Union Address.

Wouldn't he be amazed by the level of financial narcotics injected by our system today?

No, none of these folks are really evil. How about the outcomes?

the only evil i've seen are the major deficits by the so called right wing conservative. lets here pilgrim or jimv explain ther party of waste.
the difference between the left and the right is,the left is better educated.i'm talking about the average voter.
the right falls for the speil from people like 'jimv"-
the republicans stopped being thrifty years ago. and if it wasn't for big oil "dubya " couldn't have gotten elected.
the fact is a matter of record.each republican president since nixon has left office with the largest deficit ever!
regan=largest deficit to date
bush sr=largest deficit to date
bush jr=largest deficit to date

However, "education" is merely indoctrination, these days. And yes, the left is better indoctrinated. Otherwise I agree with your critique of deficits.
