The ever peaceful loving moderate Liberal, Chuck Kruger tweeted the following:

Kruger made the statement through his Twitter account this past summer, saying, “Cheney deserves same final end he gave Saddam. Hope there are cell cams,” a reference to technology that would allow Kruger to watch the proposed execution of the former Vice President of the United States.

Is there any doubt that these intolerant, hate-filled Leftist scabs will stop at nothing to attack and "eliminate" Conservatives.

Two additional things occur to me on this issue.

1. This tweet happened some time ago but this is the first we have heard of it. So much for our investigative media or, as I have noted, our 5th column media. Only the Maine Wire is on top of this.

2. The very proper and peaceful and civil Republican, Les Fossel, fired back with this heartfelt, scathing and bitter response..."Obviously I disagree with his comment...." Wow, what a firebrand of intense indignation. No wonder we are beginning to be embarrassed to vote Republican.

Anyone who has heard Chuck speak on the radio or TV knows he is anything but a moderate.

The moral of this story is that leftists have the power to express hate without consequences. A sympathetic news media won't call them on it.

If a Republican had done anything similarly outrageous, the local news would have surrounded his house for a week.

Yes, Economike, and the hate from the left is especially excused when directed at conservative Christians and strict Catholics; conservative jews; Israel and Israel supporters; libertarian and Republican business leaders; Tea Partiers.

As a libertarian-leaning conservative Catholic Republican supporter of Israel, I could feel their hate every day, if I allowed myself to (but I don't).

I said this in the other thread:
"As co-chair of the moderate caucus, Les Fossel has lent Kruger his imprimateur. Les needs to immediately condemn Kruger and his statement. I hope and believe that Les will do so."
After reading Fossel's reaction to this disgusting colleague, I am now going to have to remove the "and believe" part.

Bad move by Fossel; only adds to the glitter of his reputation.

BTW, unless a lib says 'this is on the record' before any comment or post, it is 'off the record.'

I called and left a message on his cell phone asking him to apologize.

The Daily Caller got hold of this story.

In an email to The Daily Caller, Kruger clarified, “I do not wish for the death of Dick Cheney or anyone. I did NOT call for his execution, that was an absolute smear from an organization dedicated to damaging Democrats. I did make a lousy attempt at humor, and I regret that.”

How's that for an apology?

It's on Drudge, and MaineWire is timing out accordingly.

MaineWire is not without faults. It has its moments, though.

Rep Chuck Kruger (d-Thomaston) was interviewed on WRFR. The interviewer - Gerald Weinand - referred to the Maine Wire as a "yellow journalism". The definition of Yellow Journalism is:

Yellow journalism, or the yellow press, is a type of journalism that presents little or no legitimate well-researched news and instead uses eye-catching headlines to sell more newspapers.[1] Techniques may include exaggerations of news events, scandal-mongering, or sensationalism. By extension, the term yellow journalism is used today as a pejorative to decry any journalism that treats news in an unprofessional or unethical fashion.

By that definition, the Maine Wire is a paragon of responsible journalism while almost every newspaper and TV outlet in America are prime examples of the worst of Yellow Journalism.

I note that while the blurb about Mr Weinand says he is a political commentator, it fails to disclose that he is a Liberal commentator. A review of his interview podcast reveals that 99% of the people he get advice and information from are Democratic Liberals. No need to listen to the other side I guess.

Good God is Weinland a moron.

The real question is who is paying Weinand to do what he does. For a relatively young guy with children of school age, he sure spends a lot of time dogging Republicans and video taping various meetings, hearings, etc.

And the web site for his 'Architecture' practice, the last time I looked, was a nullity.

Maybe he's getting paid by the same patron who funds the publishing of "Maine Insights," which has all the ear markings you'd expect of a publication of the Maine Democratic Party. In fact, it was formerly called "The Maine Democrat."

Gerald Weinand

That's the guy that was going to "turn Maine blue"!

lol!

The real question is who is paying Weinand to do what he does.

My guess pretty early on was that he was a Republican plant. If the Republican party isn't paying him, they should be.

20/30/40 million Americans are reading about this story today.
Okay, so I call the BDN yesterday morning and give the reporter the tip. Tell her where to go to find the info. Tell her that it's going to go viral today (a bit presumptuous of me, maybe, but for once I was right). She's very interested.
I KNOW that the BDN is very interested in the whole idea of "moderates" and "political moderation" because that's what their lead editorial is about today. And I seem to remember the BDN joining the chorus of calls for "a new political civility" over and over and over and over again.
Crickets. Poor slobs in Thomaston who don't have a computer: "YOU don't deserve to know what a national disgrace your representative is!" Gramma and Gramps in Old Town?? Too bad. Rest easy in your somnolence and assumptions about the Democrat Party.
So, another call just now. "That reporter was awfully busy yesterday". (She's the only person who was working yesterday??) "I'll give it to an editor".

Yah! You GO, BDN! Rock and roll all over this story! Look out, everybody! The BANGOR DAILY NEWS is on the story now! NOW we'll get to the root of this!
(Ssssshhh, quiet down, crickets! Sure it's a beautiful spring day. But I'm waiting for a very important message from the BDN.....so quiet down!)

Jim, that is hilarious. I also noted that Bill Nemitz hasn't jumped on the story yet.

Gerald Weinand is a joke. He video taped an event that I was at last year with James O'Keefe. A few days later I viewed his website and he only had 3 comments, 2 were from him and one from the reporter that James had mentioned. I do not think this guy is burning up the internet, he just likes to see his own words on the screen.
The only other way he can drive traffic to his site is to post a comment on the Maine Wire with a link to his site. That didn't last long but shows he has no idea that no one reads his dribble.

Received in an email from the Maine GOP:

MAINE GOP CHAIR CALLS FOR RESIGNATION OF DEMOCRAT REP KRUGER
Democrat Representative Chuck Kruger made "disgusting" comments on Twitter

AUGUSTA - Maine Republican Party Chairman Charlie Webster today called for the resignation of Maine Democrat Representative Chuck Kruger of Thomaston for what Webster is calling "disgusting, irresponsible comments"made by Kruger on his Twitter account.

Kruger posted the following to his Twitter account, referring to former Vice President Dick Cheney:
"Cheney deserves same final end he gave Saddam. Hope there are cell cams"

Former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein was executed by hanging, and the gruesome act was filmed by a cell phone camera.

"Never in decades in Maine politics have I heard an elected official make such irresponsible, disgusting statements," said Webster. "I don't care what your policy differences are, wishing someone to be executed, and then wanting to watch it happen, is an appalling thing to say about anyone."

Webster is calling on Democratic leadership in the legislature to take a stand for common decency.

"Emily Cain and Barry Hobbins need to show Chuck Kruger the door," continued Webster. "If the leaders of the Maine Democrat caucus can't take a stand to get rid of such an obviously misguided person, then they are implicitly supporting his behavior. There is no place in Maine politics for this kind of behavior, and the people of Thomaston deserve someone in that seat who will show better judgment."

"Democrats rightfully called for Speaker Nutting to take action after a member of the Republican caucus ran afoul last session. Kruger has run off the rails and violated the decorum of the Maine House of Representatives. Democratic leaders are hypocrites if they refuse to get rid of this bad apple in their caucus."

The Maine Wire servers have had so much "overjoyment" from the nation's press and readers that they can't keep up. :) The Kruger story has gone viral.

I waiting to see when the Secret Service and the FBI pay Kruger a visit, since it seems customary in cases of threats against former presidents and vice-presidents. Surely they'll want to make sure his Twits weren't terror-speech, and whether they represent a credible threat.

As for GW, I believe he's being subsidized by the BDN in some form or another. Aside from posting spam on other websites in an effort to boost his own site's hits, he's of little consequence in today's media. He and Dill should team up, since they're equally loopy, and register just about as strongly on the "Relevance Media Meter."

I found a picture of Kruger, copied it, put it on a stick and stuck it in the ground in the back yard.
My dog sniffed it, took two steps forward, and raised one rear leg,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Maine Wire story on Dem Rep causes media storm

The Maine Wire
April 13, 2012

The Maine Wire reported yesterday on Maine Democrat state representative Chuck Kruger’s Twitter comments, saying he would like to see former Vice President Dick Cheney executed, and that he hoped it would be televised.

Our story has sparked a media storm. The Drudge Report linked our story, which produced so much traffic it temporarily crashed our site. Since then, we’ve been linked by The Daily Caller, the Washington Examiner, and many other national political websites.

Not one word in the MTM papers or the BDN. Imagine the enormous cyber-space on their pages and the splashy headlines, if Kruger were a Republican, and he'd tweeted that Biden should be executed along with a live video feed to the web.

I think Kruger pretty much reached his potential back in the 70's. He should have stuck with singing ditties, less apt to stray off script that way.

Looks like The Maine Wire cracked the code on how to draw traffic to their site.

I do have a question for Rep. Kruger, though:

Say, Rep. Kruger, how do you feel about Gov. Mitt Romney, who will likely be the Republican candidate for President this year? I hereby grant you permission to speak freely.

This is a national story, almost riviling the demented liberal attack on Ann Romney, and the Maine media hasn't said a thing about it. It's incredible what lengths they will go to protect a Democrat. The Maine liberal establishment is in full "sweep it under the rug" mode right now.

Sshhh, crickets!!!
