My gosh, there are tons of them!
fake hate crimes: a database of hate crime hoaxes in the usa
A fake hate crime accusation against a kindergarten teacher. Imagine what a nightmare her life must have been while the investigation was going on.
Police found no evidence that teacher assaulted a Muslim kindergartener
Meanwhile, we wait for arrests to be made in Portland's two prominent cases of politically motivated vandalism: the sliced up car with "Trump" scratched into the dash and the broken store windows at the halal market.
It is still my opinion that a category such as "hate crime" which draws a more serious punishment than the old fashion "crime" is wrong. To kill a person because he is white has the same effect as to kill a white person because you don't like the way he looked at your wife. The person is just as dead and both crimes should be punished the same. Just having this category requires mind reading skills and the audacity to claim to understand the killers feelings about the victim. Horse hockey. This is a stupid feel good law.
This is a stupid feel good law.
It's not just "feel good," it pour billions into the race-baiting industry, and gives incompetent politicians cover. .
Shhhhh... We're coming up on the 33rd anniversary of Charlie Howard in Bangor. 16,000 people are murdered each year in America, so if my math is right almost 536,000 Americans have been murdered since 1984 - for all sorts of reasons, wealth and jealousy ranking among the top ten reasons.
Why are some murders more important than other murders?
Why do people make fake reports?
A good article here that gets at that question while discussing some of the documented hoaxes and lies:Untruth and Consequences The great hate-crime hysteria
We'll never hear the results of USM's investigation into the words deus vult scrawled on a wall at the college, despite student leaders' knowledge of the vandal's identity. Why can't we know? Privacy? Am I crazy to think that if this is an instance of anti-Muslim hate, no privacy considerations would protect the young person's identity or motivations? Maybe the offender truly hates Islam and it's as simple and disgusting as that. Why can't we know that?
Remember the sliced up car in Portland with "Trump" scratched into the dash? This happened shortly after the election.
I have asked a Press Herald reporter whether the police investigation ever turned up anything.
