Dems Filibuster Gorsuch

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/06/us/politics/neil-gorsuch-supreme-cour...

I've maintained the stupidity of this move in prior posts, but here's a little confirmation:
https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/is-filibustering-gorsuch-a-smart-st...

"Just 23 percent of Democrats have a very unfavorable view of Gorsuch. That’s nearly equal to the percentage of independents who have a very favorable view (18 percent). It’s also far less than the percentage of independents who have a favorable view of Gorsuch (36 percent). So I’m not sure there is all this energy on the left. Maybe the super left?"

Why the hell are they doing this? It makes no sense, and has no real impact at the end of the day, and doesn't even make sense in the context of polling. Stupid and disappointing.

The filibuster is over. It's

The filibuster is over. It's time for a vote. At a Maine town meeting, there is always somebody who takes off on a rant about something. The moderator often lets the citizen on on fora while and then a town citizen calls out, "Move the question." That ends the rant and the article is voted upon, up or down.

Essentially, this is what is happening at this moment in the US Senate.

Well, that worked out great for them.

You wouldn't notice if you've been watching the MSM, but Trump is changing the world.

The AMG server is v e r

The AMG server is v e r y slow, hence the growing number of double and even triple posts. The owner should invest in a faster server or something better than dial-up.

a_c would like to know: Why

a_c would like to know: Why the hell are they doing this?

I didn't recognize the source but I heard earlier today that the Ds believe there will be an enormous Trump backlash in 2018 and that 50+1 is going to come in handy.

I wonder if a simple majority

I wonder if a simple majority vote might not eventually just become a better thing in the end.

I think both sides coming

I think both sides coming together and making compromises/deals would be a better thing in the end, but given both sides' refusal to listen to the other I doubt this is going to happen any time soon.

Scalia on Moderate Justices:

Scalia on Moderate Justices:

Biden’s remark reminds me not only of the stakes in tomorrow's election, but also reminds me of what Justice Scalia said last year about so-called “moderate” judges:
[Y]ou hear in the discourse on this subject, people talking about moderate, we want moderate judges. What is a moderate interpretation of the text? Halfway between what it really means and what you’d like it to mean? There is no such thing as a moderate interpretation of the text. Would you ask a lawyer, “Draw me a moderate contract?” The only way the word has any meaning is if you are looking for someone to write a law, to write a constitution, rather than to interpret one.

It cannot be under-estimated

It cannot be over-estimated how internationally significant and important this action of putting a non-Liberal/swine in the SCOTUS. The court has become a quasi legislative body unto itself and has been leading America into socialism and Liberal government even with that judicial zit, John Roberts leading it.

Nobody can predict how the new SC Justice will lean but we have a much better chance with him than we would if we get another prune-faced, tolerant Libtard.

BTW, this constant droning on and on about being "bi-partisan" is inane drivel. We cannot come to common ground or join in with a group of mindless, whining, violent knuckle dragging thugs who love Castro, Che, and all other socialist tyrants. They are intellectually deficient and ethically repugnant. How could Churchill have a bi-political agreement with Hitler?

Reality is .

Reality is .
Until one more goes and leaves court the "balance" has not changed !
Just like our hopes for it.
Until the next vacancy occurs we will have to wait and see if all the wrongs done by the founding fathers are corrected.
My bet is Ruth "Buzzy" Ginsburg will be next !

I was hoping that she'd

I was hoping that she'd resign as promised. Fat chance of that. Maybe they can find the guy that poisoned Scalia. I wonder if that would make it easier to force a retirement out of the rest of the lefties. Anyone want to make a bet that this stranger can be traced to the Clinton foundation?(if ever found).

AC, Are you publicly

AC, Are you publicly stating that you are in support of fratricide of our senior citizens? Sound a little Orwellian to me.

Umm no, I'm saying the only

Umm no, I'm saying the only person that could have poisoned Scalia was Scalia, in terms of the choices of food that he ate.
