Did Mexico pay for the wall yet?

During yesterday’s meeting with Congressional leaders, Trümp said he’d shut down the gummint if he didn’t get $5,000,000,000 for his precious wall. (Side note: Was Pence on elephant tranquilizers?)

I thought Mexico was going to pay for the wall? He only said it a gazillion times during his campaign.

Are his supporters going to give him a pass on this promise, like so many other things they like to overlook?

Any democrat that watched

Any democrat that watched that debacle yesterday should be ashamed of their supposed leaders.
Mumbles Pelosi kept trying to get the cameras off them and schmucky Schumer couldn't get his eyes much higher than his knees.
Neither one of them had enough confidence in their convictions to look Trump directly in the eye
Personally, I am ashamed that those two live in my country.

Trump's still President, and will be for at least a couple more years, probably six.
After the wall is built, it will pay for itself.
The current crop of illegals here will cost the US taxpayers $750 billion over their lifetime.
It would cost just $125 billion to round them up and deport them, but without a wall, that would be a recurring cost.
$5 billion to stem the tide of illegal immigration seems like a bargain to me, not to mention the benefits of , at the very least, slowing down the drug trade.
Of course, scumbag democrats would lose their two most coveted items.
Votes, and victims.

They're paying for the who-knows-how many of the caravan that they are keep in country. They are paying for their own "wall".

Tom C is a strong advocate

Tom C is a strong advocate for OTHERS living by Luke 10:30-37. A woman with a three year old, fleeing a country historically screwed by US economic and military forces, and whose husband was shot dead by US-bred gang member extortionists, doesn’t classify as a neighbor. Build that wall! Right, Tom?

The vast majority of

The vast majority of undocumented people in this country work. I read a statistic that it was something like 8/11 million undocumented adults work which I note is a higher percentage than the adult population as a whole.

The easiest and most cost-effective way to curb this would be to go after the employers: onerous financial penalties, mandatory jail sentences and vigorous enforcement.

But as we all know this is never going to happen especially in a Republican controlled Senate because many of the major donors (and especially agricultural interests) profit to much from undocumented workers.

Above and beyond that, pulling 8 million workers out of a low unemployment economy would devastate some industries (agriculture, hospitality, construction), drive up wage expenses and probably cause a recession.

There’s a lot of hypocrisy here…

We've got to build the wall

We've got to build the wall to keep people in, not out.

Sounds like several on AMG want to escape to utopia somewhere else. How about Germany, or England, or Italy?

If they don't want to go there, I suggest San Trancisco.

Matt, I've provided food

Matt, I've provided food clothing and charity personally to dozens of people. Your reference to the Good Samaritan, as well as being off-point, I doubt applies to you directly.

However, like most lefties, you only demand others give and make sacrifices.

Absolutely right. The immigration issue is pushed by: Globalists, who are also advocates for Big Business against working people, and lefties who want voters. It combines into a push for power upward, against people.

There is a negative benefit for those who work for a living.

Obama, Hillary, Schumer, etc, are all on record as being for legal immigration, and strongly against illegal immigration. However, we can see that the cadre of pot-brain-damaged lefties here has forgotten all that, and now claim that such statements are evil.

Down the memory hole.

I call bullshit on that.
I fail to see how anybody can make a statement like that without a high percentage of speculation.
They are here illegally.
Everything they do is illegal.
They are not going to volunteer any information due to their illegal status.

The easiest and most cost-effective way to curb this would be to go after the employers: onerous financial penalties, mandatory jail sentences and vigorous enforcement.

You'll get no argument with me on that.

That's odd.
I thought all you lefties were champions of the American worker.
Taking 8-11M workers out of the workforce would tend to put pressure on employers to raise wages a bit, wouldn't it?
Of course, scumbag democrats would lose these illegals as victims, and there would be no need for a raising the minimum wage, one of their basic bait and switch campaign promises.

It would seem that the hypocrisy is all yours.

I still call bullshit.

I still call bullshit.

I don't trust any study that, throughout the entire article, fails to call the subjects exactly what they are: ILLEGAL ALIANS.
If they ignore that, what or who else did they also overlook.

Ugenetoo, can you exhibit

Ugenetoo, can you exhibit your keen intellect and differentiate for us the definitional differences between:

1. Pew Research’s unauthorized immigrants.
2. Fortune Magazine’s undocumented.
3. Your ILLEGAL “ALIANS”.

My simple mind thinks they’re just different terms for the same thing (synonymous)-someone who is a noncitizen and not authorized to be in this country.

If you can't acknowledge that

If you can't acknowledge that the word illegal is in fact a better description than undocumented or unauthorized then you in fact are part of the problem.

So Al, 11,000,000

So Al, 11,000,000 unauthorized immigrants or undocumented in this country would be OK with you but 11,000,000 illegal aliens is unacceptable?

Talk about backwards logic...

Talk about backwards logic... he wasn't saying those were different... they're the same. It's using euphemisms to hide the truth.

For me, 11M *LEGAL* immigrants is fine... but not the others, no matter which tag you use to hide the fact that they've broken the law (jumping the border is illegal, even for YOU), exposed good people to unacceptable risks (sooner or later, a terrorist will come with them), and cheated all those who came legally of their place in the queue. Why is this acceptable?

Can we design/build a wall with "loopholes" that allow selected illegals to come through a door and be routed directly to the abodes of mattzine and the rest for lifelong care and feeding?

Illegal aliens (that make you

Illegal aliens (that make you happy, douchebags?) are criminals the second they cross over this country's border, uninvited.
From that point on, everything they do is criminal.
We have enough of our own criminals.
We don't need to import more.

I agree... everyone who wants

I agree... everyone who wants open borders should be willing to pay for the care of those allowed in illegally. That never happens - leftists only do charity with other people's money. Even those leftists with many millions clutch their dollars tightly while demanding that everyone not rich should pay for anything they believe in.

"Criminal Illegal Alien Invaders" is the proper term, and should be used whenever referring these people that cross our borders uninvited.

Again, the biggest beneficiaries of open borders are business interest (especially agriculture, hospitality and construction) not leftists because it provides them with cheap labor and often labor that “real” Americans won’t do. So, they should pay.

Here’s a great solution: a minimum $10,000 fine and 6 months in jail for hiring undocumented workers with vigorous enforcement.

Why won’t your Republican friends in congress come anywhere close to supporting something like that?

After his incredibly dull and

After his incredibly dull and lifeless address to the nation last night, Trümp today walked out of a meeting with lawmakers in a fit of pique.

Being a petulant man-baby means holding the paychecks of 800,000 Americans hostage so you can look good to your trailer park dwelling base.

If only there was a country just south of the United States that would pay for his medieval wall...you know, like he promised over and over and over again.
