Tancredo is radioactive and will only bring unnecessary controversy to the ticket.

He is also well known almost exclusively as an activist on one issue. That is not the makings of a Chief Executive.

Tancredo would, however, fire people up around the nation.

He is known for one issue, but he has been strong on others.

He could play an Agnew kind of role and since he has not taken any bribes, it would probably work

Tancredo would "fire people up", both for and against. And the against may indeed outnumber the for...

A Fred Thompson / Susan Collins ticket would be more viable.

The biggest thing to me, is we do not want to nominate someone the democrats and some moderates will rally against...

we have the blessing of the Hildebeast attempting to run, all the moderates and republicans that abandoned us at the polls in 06 will be pushed back into the fold at the prospect of Hillary being president... We have a great chance to win, nominating a radioactive candidate would wreck that...

I have talked with several people that seem to like that match up...he appears to be a very sincere, and honest person..
Other suggestions have been JC Watts, Duncan Hunter...

I love JC Watts, have followed him for a long time. He was a great competitor in college and has shown the same competitive spirit in politics. He is on the correct side of the issues and is a dynamic speaker.

His place on the ticket would certainly rock the Ds.

Tancredo is a one-issue candidate: immigration. On immigration I thought Trancredo was very strong. He lost me during the GOP New Hampshire debate when he moved from opposing illegal immigration to saying let's stop all immigration.

I think Mike Huckabee would make a great VP.

I too would love a Thompson/Watts ticket. The D's would go ballistic.

Nothing's written yet in stone. If I had to choose today from among the declared GOP presidential candidates I'd pick Romney for Pres and Huckabee for VP. That means, based on what I've heard and read to date on all the candidates I am most in sync with those two - but my mind is still open.

Yeah that would be some ticket. Two D's with a combined history of six....count them SIX years of being U.S. Senators. I'm sorry but I'd like a little more experience behind the helm.

FYI Union....it's Obama not O'bama

Unionman,

I would love to see Fred Thompson and JC Watts square off against John Edwards and Barrack O'Bama.

America would have a clear choice from each camp. There are deep division between those two teams about the direction America should head.

This is the type of choice our country needs because the winner would signal the real direction the American people believe we should go. There would be no misunderstanding.

Thompson/Watts represents a traditional conservative team. Edwards/O'Bama represents a traditional liberal team.

Frankly, the thought of Fred Thompson debating John Edwards put me in a euphoric mood.

stating that we have problems with legal and illegal immigration at this time . (which we do)
and until a correct system is in place everything should be put on hold.
it should but most folks hate the truth ................tom tancredo and duncan hunter should be on a ticket for sure..............
Duncan Hunter president and Tom Tancredo vice president , if the pro- illegal immigration media would give them their due they would be much higher in the polls.............(most are all talk but these two are committed to something at least .
also i dont see a one of them that would have half the guts duncan does to tackle terrorism and other major issues (trade, china)
alot of moderates being pushed to high poll numbers by the liberal left in my opinion .......
join in and sign the petition to stop illegalimmigration ..............

My dream ticket got screwed up in the last election when Sen. Santorum got ousted.

With Thompson highly likely entering entering in July, I'm excited about that. As for the other half of the ticket, I'm not sure it is a good idea to have a running mate that loses the primary or withdrawls from the presidential race.

With Kerry and Edwards, it was the leading vote getter with the second leading vote getter. People knew what to expect from both and the future looked glum.

I think that if Thompson were to win or anyone that wins the nomination for that matter, should chose a running mate that has not already been run through the gauntlet we call the media. Thompson, I don't believe would chose Susan as a running mate for she is standing behind McCain right now. I would like to see it, but not likely to happen. Maybe a Thompson /Santorum would be appealing to many. Santorum is out of the spotlight right now and has not been appart of the immigration reform thing and all the ugly stuff this session.
