Summers Gets Cold Shoulder From Snowe
Jeff Wade Reporting

WASHINGTON, DC - In an interview with Politico, Snowe says she's not planning to appear at any fundraisers for Summers this campaign season, because Summers did not endorse the Senator during her re-election bid....

Summers campaign manager Lance Dutson tells Politico the rift between Snowe and Summers is a misunderstanding and that when a [Snowe] aide...asked for the endorsement last year, Summers had just taken office as Secretary of State-a post that's often viewed as non-partisan.

Well, I'm glad to know it's nothing personal and no politics will muddy the waters. It's refreshing to see two people of the same party and of supposed like minds support one another.

Oh, wait......nevermind.

In all seriousness, Summers needs to know there are MANY people across the state who have their Snowe Shovels out and cannot wait to see her gone. She has festered and rotted in that position for so long she's become a detriment to the state she supposedly serves. He would do well NOT to follow in her footsteps.

Of course there seems to have been a number of people who voted for her getting her elected.
There is less specific policy issues involved in that than believed !
The failure to understand that fully will linger for years and be a great help to Angus this fall !

It would be well if Snowe could be the "bigger person" in this instance, particularly since she later decided to step down. Surely, she should understand that Summers was newly elected as SOS, and that his reluctance to issue an endorsement was one of principle. Her refusal to support his Senate candidacy now seems petty.

Petty seems an understatement. Considering what's at stake this action is bordering on sabotage. But then, Snowe is marching to a difference agenda it seems.

There were two "misunderstandings" here.

1) Charlie Summers misunderstood his place in the pecking order and failed to kiss Empress Olympia's ring.
2) Olympia has misunderstood her continued relevancy in light of her voting history and her decision to abandon the party completely by stepping down with little notice.

Wow! AMG posters showing pithiness at its best. They took the words right out of my mouth.

Paraphrasing GW, "I have no problem with backstabbing, as long as it's clearly identified as such."

Sad, sad, sad......A woman whose entire raison d'etre has been to really matter--to be somebody powerful and important. You know: "she holds the key to Senate efforts for blah blah blah".......
And now that she can see the end of all of that looming, this is what is doing to her. It isn't pretty. But, this human scenario has been written about and chronicled down through the ages, by masters of all stripes.

What a shallow, sad, vain woman. I will say an extra prayer for her tonight. It doesn't look like it will "end well" for Olympia!

I doubt if she and Jock will be clipping coupons and as far as conscience goes...
