FBI audit finds widespread abuse in data collection...

..."An internal FBI audit has found that the bureau potentially violated the law or agency rules more than 1,000 times while collecting data about domestic phone calls, e-mails and financial transactions in recent years, far more than was documented in a Justice Department report in March that ignited bipartisan congressional criticism"....

..."FBI officials said the results confirmed what agency supervisors and outside critics feared, namely that many agents did not understand or follow the required legal procedures and paperwork requirements when collecting personal information with one of the most sensitive and powerful intelligence-gathering tools of the post-Sept. 11 era -- the National Security Letter, or NSL"...

And that is just the little bit they are willing to admit! This bureaucratic outfit has run wildly free for way too long.

Does this really surprise anyone who believes in liberty and realizes the threat abuse by big government poses to that liberty?

No surprise here - Liberal hacks infest governmeny right down to janitoral services.

I figure pretty much 95% of the rank & file at any given agency are socialist slackers.

Take a look at our state.

It gets lots better!

"FBI Terror Watch List 'Out of Control":

..."A terrorist watch list compiled by the FBI has apparently swelled to include more than half a million names.
Privacy and civil liberties advocates say the list is growing uncontrollably, threatening its usefulness in the war on terror"....

..."U.S. lawmakers and their spouses have been detained because their names were on the watch list.
Reporters who have reviewed versions of the list found it included the names of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, at the time he was alive but in custody in Iraq; imprisoned al Qaeda plotter Zacarias Moussaoui; and 14 of the 19 Sept. 11, 2001 hijackers, all of whom perished in the attacks"...

After Waco and Ruby Ridge I realized the Fibbies were "incompetent". I just never could of imagined this extent!

Some of the comments following this story are just wonderful.

An example:

..."You people wanted a police state? Looks like you finally got one"....
