If you read the second page

If you read the second page of the article, elite black liberals believe you can take the girl out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the girl.....

And while the Only Ones embrace each other, they can be dismissive of other blacks. “If you’re too Southern Baptist, too dark-skinned, too street...you may be insulted by a black person,”

So are obama and company the only ones on the public payroll that indulge in what Michelle refers to as ghetto behavior??? I think not.........I'm not running interference for the one ,but certainly we need to measure our other employees with the same kind of yardstick......Unless we are so blinded by our dislike of obama that we can't see that many others of large and small political power live high on the hog of the public dollar......Whether it is by the in your face kind of extravagance or the personal enrichment

Are you saying that other people on the public payroll send their spouses, children, nieces and nephews on extravagant vacations using taxpayer money?

How do we know? But certainly

How do we know? But certainly they have used their offices to enrich themsleves and their families. Pelosi is a good example, what about the VP?
Who knows who the congress critters take on their fact finding junkets? The point is lets spread the blame equally. Why isn't congress up in arms about it? Maybe because they do the same??? Snowe and Mckernan??
I had my hand slapped for an earlier post .........for calling the one's behavior ...... something politically incorrect.

Strange censorship happening at AMG these days. Moderators just erase posts because they don't like them? Entire threads go poof due to the potential embarrasment.

Gee, they must be taking

Gee, they must be taking lessons in moderation from "Democratic Underground"' (/sarcasm)

In reality, AMG allows far more open debate than any leftist site you can name.

Chris Coose -

I can think of lots of things to write that no one would consider "debate." Wouldn't your proposition depend on the content of the post or thread in question?

The reductio of your statement is that any conceivable editing of a web site prevents open debate.

"he really fits the role of Napoleon in Animal Farm"

That character was a parody of Joseph Stalin. Obama is more of a parody of Louis the XVI. Without the skill at repairing toys, of course. Michelle and Marie have exactly the same spending proclivities.....

Or perhaps the post was a hidden racist reference to Pig King Napoleon''s arch nemesis, Snowball? There's only one thing a moniker like Snowball could mean to the PC police:-)

Chris Coose: Strange

Chris Coose: Strange censorship happening at AMG these days. Moderators just erase posts because they don't like them? Entire threads go poof due to the potential embarrasment.

Not strange at all.

It has long been the policy of AMG to allow s/he who originates a thread to set the guidelines for that thread. Posters are expected to follow those guidelines. If they forget, the thread-starter can remind them. If they continue to post counter to the guidelines, those posts are subject to deletion.

Most AMGers comply with the request, so it doesn't happen so frequently, but trust me, it does.

As for "entire threads go poof," that's not new either. The board belongs to Scott, and he can delete whatever he wants to delete.

I don't believe your assessment that it went "poof due to the potential embarrasment [sic]" is correct.

However, you might refer to that "poofed" thread to read his explanation, which he did not need to give.

[Added: Once again, I ask that posts address the comment. If you want to disparage management of this board, please PM the person you believe wronged you. If you want to talk about racism, find a racism thread. If you want to talk about who you want for President in 2012, for heaven sakes, there are dozens of those threads here. Go find one. Those posts are not on topic here and will go bye-bye.]

Obama to jet off to Hawaii

Obama to jet off to Hawaii for SEVENTEEN DAY Christmas vacation
President Barack Obama has announced his Christmas vacation to Hawaii – for a staggering 17-day trip. Obama, who visited the island just two weeks ago for an economic summit, will head to Honolulu on Saturday December 17 until Monday January 2.

To his credit, he is not making us pay for the rental units during this vacation. But we do get stuck for the transportation, security, etc., with Michelle Obama and the children "joining" him separately.

Last year, if you recall, we paid for the Navy Seals and the Secret Service agents' rentals, as well as two dozen White House staffers, the ambulance and medical personnel which accompanies him in any motorcade where he finds himself, more than $1 million for Obama's round trip flight, and another quarter million dollars in overtime for Hawaii police.

Obama: No vacation until tax cuts, benefits extended
GOP leaders in the House are finishing up a bill that contains a provision the president vows to veto.

The Associated Press

WASHINGTON - President Obama vowed to delay Congress' year-end vacation as well as his own.... for "as long as it takes" to extend Social Security payroll tax cuts and long-term jobless benefits, his second challenge in as many days to conservative Republicans.

Obama stated his position as the House GOP leadership put the finishing touches on legislation that meets White House specifications in important areas but also contains at least one provision the president has pledged to veto.

Agent Provocateur sales

Agent Provocateur sales boosted by US First Lady Michelle Obama
Michelle Obama has risked the wrath of cash-strapped Americans by indulging in a $50,000 shopping spree at Agent Provocateur.

…along with the the Queen of Qatar, Sheikha Mozah, [First Lady Michelle Obama] closed off part of Madison Avenue to spend time in the luxury lingerie shop...

Agent Provocateur, which is styled on vintage Hollywood glamour, sells handmade Calais lace corsets that sell for up to £900 [$1,415.43], which could ruffle the feathers of more than just President Obama in an election year.

The White House, of course, denies it; and Agent Provocateur will not publicly violate it's confidentially policy...

White House fury at 'false' claims Michelle Obama 'closed off Agent Provocateur's Madison Avenue boutique to spend $50,000 on lingerie'

The White House today issued an angry denial following claims that Michelle Obama indulged in a $50,000 shopping spree at a luxury lingerie boutique in New York.

According to a report in the Sunday Telegraph yesterday, Agent Provocateur's boutique in Madison Avenue, New York, was partially closed off for the U.S. First Lady.

But Kristina Schake, Director of Communications for First Lady Michelle Obama told MailOnline this morning: 'This story is 100 per cent false.'

Judicial Watch has filed yet

Judicial Watch has filed yet another suit to find out how much the First Lady is spending on her Marie-Antoinetteish extravagances.

From Vic Berardelli in another thread:

Judicial Watch filed suit Tuesday in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia for access to all U.S. Air Force records pertaining to an August 2010 vacation to Spain taken by First Lady Michelle Obama and her daughters — including cost estimates and passenger manifests.

"Evidently, American taxpayers were stuck with a sizable bill so Mrs. Obama could tour around Spain with her family and friends, This administration, as a supposed steward of taxpayer dollars, has an obligation to disclose the full costs of the Obama family’s luxury trip," said Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton in a statement.

From the Judicial Watch

From the Judicial Watch site:

"The U.S. Air Force acknowledged receiving Judicial Watch’s request on August 30, 2011 and was required by law to respond by October 13, 2011, at the latest. However, at the time of Judicial Watch’s lawsuit, the Air Force has neither released responsive documents nor indicated why these documents should be withheld. The Air Force has also failed to indicate when a response is forthcoming."

[SNIP]

“That this lavish trip may be a source of embarrassment for the Obamas is not a sufficient reason to stonewall the release of records.

It's partly cloudy and 68 in fabulous Las Vegas. The Michelle checked in last night; I have no idea how long she's staying. LV is home to Nellis AFB, so AF over flights aren't at all unusual. What is unusual is the amount of activity I'm seeing today . . constant since early this AM. I can't help but wonder if this isn't a little show for mum and the girls. Anyone know how much fighter jets bill out for? How about a C-5?
