GOP Gov Primary- is the field set?

I don't know Mr. Heath personally...
Clearly.
...and really don't have any opinion of him.
Really? Because it seems to me that, given the complete absence of any inkling of a hint that Mr. Heath would consider such a thing, there is nothing BUT opinion to account for the statement you made.
I only speculate because he recently resigned from CCL and Mr. Emrich made the comment that the Republican field wasn't set yet and I'm thinking Mr. Emrich might have some inside information of a potential Heath candidacy.
So do you think that anyone who has resigned his job and who might know Bob Emrich is going to run for Governor?
I certainly don't know his politics other then to assume that they would be similar to most fundamentalist Christian politicians.
Stunning!
Steven,
Can you ever say anything nice about anyone
Out of the group of r's Peter Mill's stands out
If Mills is the nominee the Dems will win the Blaine House. Not much difference between the dems and Mills as shown by unionmans support of Mills. Who don't you like unionman, that person may be worth looking at.
Unionman's commnet is illogical.
The field is not set. I was told tonight that there may be at least two more republican candidates who will jump into the fray.

I was told yesterday that Steve Abbott is definitely in the race.
This is wonderful news. I was beginning to worry about our chances. Abbott will have my vote.
From Today's Bangor Daily:
Four Orono High School graduates will be inducted into the school’s athletic hall of fame when the Red Riots’ football team faces Dexter during homecoming Friday night.
Jen Pelleriti, Jeff Paul, Steve Abbott and the late Jim Veno will represent the second class to be inducted into the Orono High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Who is Steve Abbott ???
Steve Abbott is Senator Collins' Chief of Staff.
Mike Tipping is also reporting what Prof. Frary wrote above.
hmmmmm,,,,,,I've met Steve Abbott on 2 occasions, all I see is a follower not a leader. He also was a poor orator and stumbled with questions. But that's all I know. Anybody else?? Can you fill in the blanks for me?
He was also giving thought to running for the 1st district house seat.......I guess he made up his mind. I've talked to him a couple of times. He's a nice guy.
Tall, goodlooking (for a pol - I know the bar is low, but there it is), attractive family, brilliant, well connected, will have Big Buck$, a great organization at his disposal, Democrats worst nightmare.
Abbot is a pro business moderate whose campaign message will be eerily similar to Jacobson's - pro business, development, etc. + Collins and $2 million. The former leadership of the party and the Angus King Republicans will be all over him. Too bad he has no "Outsider Card" to play - this is the year for it.
Wanna know why he's running? He told me he didn't want to (kids wrong age, move from DC) but he didn't know if he had a choice - because Maine might not be worth trying to salvage in 4 years! That should be his lead statement.
Paul LePage has a hugely appealing personal story and an impressive record of accomplishment. If he can make it past the primary, he will appeal to a large number of folks who have never voted Republican.
My wife and went to Matt Jacobson's function at Buck's Naked BBQ last night. I really liked what I heard. He is very pro business and has experience bringing companies here. I think he would be an excellent Governor.

Oh dear lord please tell me Bill Beardsley is not getting in this race.
One more person attempting to satiate their egos with a quixotic run for an office they have exactly 0% chance of winning.
Otten is the only current candidate who would get more than 20% if the election were held today. Very professional staff, best name ID.
Mills would be second if the election were held today. The other three are still trying to get traction. The January money numbers, and Steve Abbot's announcement (pro or con) will tell us a lot come January.
There is still room in the race for a centrist candidate. Abbot hopes to fill that void - Beardsley could fill it if he cared to. Vigue is still a wild card for the November finale.
Why the problem with Beadsley, WC?
I've been in his presence a number of times, in non-campaign times and settings, and find him very refreshing, direct, and talented.
But that's just me.
Bill Beardsley is joining the race.

BANGOR -- The former longtime president of Husson University has filed the necessary paperwork in preparation for plans to seek the Republican nomination for governor.

So basically, it's just me and Peter Vigue who's not running?
Betsy and Auntie Mabel are still pondering, but wavering to the side of "nay."

Mike Michaud will not be running for governor. His staff likes Washington DC.
