Gorham school officials apologize for Diversity Day

http://www.wlbz2.com/video/default.aspx?bctid=1942721738001

If Question One passes, there will be no more apologies and parents will lose the right to object.

Thank (the Deity of your choice) I'm not a young parent. All but one of my GRAND children are out of school.

Hell would freeze over before I'd subject a child of mine to the Socialist Liberal Boot Camps that pass for "schools" these days.

There is a letter to the Editor today in the PPH you need to see, written by a 14 year old. A church youth group, ages 7 to 17, were waving No on 1 signs along a road. A demented liberal in an SUV rode up on the sidewalk and forced the kids to scatter, and also knocked down several No on 1 signs, all the while laughing hysterically. He was immediately chased down by police and arrested, and the crime was caught on video. I can't find the letter online but if someone can, please post the link.

This is what it has come to now in Maine. Liberals in SUV's trying to run down children, all in the name of "diversity and tolerance".

I have copies of the statements from witnesses taken by the police department. Does anyone think the SUV driver will even pay a fine?
Anyone else wonder why the PPH failed to even report the incident?

According to the letter the

According to the letter the police were called and went after the person.
As much as I agree w/ defeating this question I just as strongly feel that it was really poor form having kids doing it and where I saw them was a
unsafe area period. When I saw them they were on Payne road just before the turnpike overpass after entering pike from 295. There isn't a side walk there!

No excuse for behavior from adults though.

As for the Gorham thing ,well the truth is they are trying to teach them something and it got out of hand. (bad words) Why do we have such things in middle schools ?
It starts out with trying to get the animals on hormones to behave and treat others decently. Because too many parents haven't done it and most middle schools are nothing like most of us experienced
in jr. high school !

Another well intended but misguided event. Chances are none was damaged or taught anything new sad;y to say.

Going to my first point, keep the kids out of the debate and off from roadsides

Not really, other than to consider, had the shoe been on the other foot, it would be national headlines and a rapid response team from DOJ.

Safe Schools celebrated their

Safe Schools celebrated their tenth anniversary, with a sodomy festival at Tufts in 1990. Hey, you can't make this stuff up. Here's a link that pertains to one of the festivals, conferences or seminars. They refer to them as "semenars" or annual meetings as "anal events".

I have an audio tape recorded at the event attended by Maine junior high students.

Aside from what the young

Aside from what the young people were subjected to, what is most disturbing to me is the very real possibility that the teachers who were present did nothing because of fear of being bullied by the anti-discrimination and anti-bullying PRYSM activists.

Bob since it did n't happen

Bob since it did n't happen in Portland it probably just didn't get picked up by PPH.
But if they chose not to cover it ,it probably is just as well. There is enough foolishness to go around the area .
Sorry having the kids ou tthere is just one examples of many IMHO.

Bob call the area PD's and ask, Apollo already established the driver was arrested.

What's almost as bad is the gay pedophile who flashed their genitles at the youth group - ages 7 - 17. Yep, go ahead and vote Yes on 1. But don't blame me when gay pedophile assaults on children dramatically increase. They also won't hesitate to sue and shut down youth groups such as this.

If in fact the author is a 14

If in fact the author is a 14 year old, she has more common since and decency then the vast majority of adolescent like elders.

I can think of an entire list of charges for the reckless lunatic that decided to use his SUV as a battering ram to assault the fist amendment.

This type of behavior is not Maine like and doesn’t reflect the Scarborough I grew up in.

Reminds me of one of Ambrose

Reminds me of one of Ambrose Bierce's stories, about a political hack who tried to get a Democratic political convention to locate in his city. When he failed, he went to the zoo and released its poisonous snakes into the community, remarking "if you can't do what you want, you do what you can."

And so, our public schools, despairing to teaching reading, writing and thinking, teach the latest liberal fads instead.

Bingo to Bruce in Post

Bingo to Bruce in Post #17!

You don't let unknowns into the school to present unknown materials with no oversight.

If this was oversight, the overseers are culpable, and should be 'rewarded' appropriately.

As they say, it's always easier to ask for forgiveness than to seek permission.

I doubt that this was a "mistake" or anything close. It was planned and deliberate. Even if it was unexpected by the "authorities", the fact remains that everyone was too intimidated to stop it or to object. The principal pretended like it all happened too fast but the accounts by those present speak otherwise.
The bullies won again. Imagine what they will do next.

That's the thing,

That's the thing, Bob.........I've worked in that school, and in many others. I know how it works: something like that happens and everybody turns chicken. Nobody wants to be seen as the Un-PC "bad guy", so nobody does anything.
It's become the CULTURE (of schools, but also in general).

Was this the topic WVOM's Ric Tyler and George Hale was talking about this morning during the 6am hour, about saran warp, etc., or was there two separate controversial incidents? [I only heard part of the show]

I was almost persuaded to vote yes on 1 two days ago because my significant other said she was going to because she 's tired of hearing about the issue every 2 years ,but now i am going to absolutely vote NO on 1. My significant other is now going to,vote NO on 1 now, after she too heard the gist of what WVOM show this morning..
