KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia --Government employees in a Malaysian state are being monitored by security cameras to keep them from slacking off at work or vanishing for long tea breaks, a news report said Monday.
...snip

Officials and workers interviewed by the newspaper praised the measure.

....quoted as saying the decision was "a brilliant idea," stressing that workers should "accept the move in a positive manner as this will actually encourage them to excel further."

Wouldn't this be a hoot in Augusta???

This would require more State employees but they would be able to justify their Earned income without having to raise the budget because of the savings shown. Slackers would be able to be let go because it would prove we don't need so many of them.

We all know that the union wouldn't let this happen.

I wonder if hand gestures, including finger positions are understood in foreign countries.

I wonder if OPEGA would go for this concept? Since they are so understaffed, we could help them by providing details for some camera placement locations in 'likely violation spots' and let them roll for a few work days... wow, that would be a major wake-up call for the public taxpayers. In addition, this little experiment would show how many hard-working state employees must bust their arse while covering for all of the lazy free loaders and pro-MSEA types.
