Taxpayers are leaning on politicians especially hard this year to curb spending, to create a government that can live within its means.If we demand fiscal responsibility from elected officials, we have to be just as demanding of ourselves and reject the referenda and the constitutional amendment listed on Tuesday's ballot.Taxpayers have historically passed referenda by large margins.
