So desperation causes them to sexually act out in public?

Don't know every person's motivation that has sex in public (keep in mind Al heterosexuals do it too). Al if loving your wife was thought to be perverted, would you still love her?

OK, Charlotte, then tell me. Why is AIDS in the US concentrated in the gay community?

...And now, back to the "Let's Ask Al Show"....

If loving your brother, sister, father, mother, dog, horse, sheep, mistress or boy toywas thought to be perverted, would you still love him, her, him, her, him or her, him or her, him or her, her, him?

Tom, mainly in black and younger men. I would have to say it is mainly due to unsafe sex. I believe many of the young gay folks think hiv can be treated...and don't take it as seriously as they should. Being gay in the black community is very taboo...That would lead black gay/bisexual men to take risks they should not.

LMD I picture you sitting in the dark with a bag of chips...laughing to yourself...

Sounds like Jesse Jackson's complaint about Obama - I guess we shouldn't be "blaming the victims."

The reason they practice unsafe sex must be the government's fault.

No Tom...when you do not use safe sex you are asking for trouble. The gay community has to continue to educate....I don't tend to blame when it comes to disease. I could look at a guy with lung cancer at 40 who has smoked and say...you deserve what you've got...but I don't. Same goes with those that get aids. Terrible disease.

So, you think smoking is bad. You must hate all smokers. Have any "friends" who are smokers? How do they feel about your hating them?

This is an unbelievabley absurd and outrageous situation.

If this isn't "in your face, special rights" demands, I don't know what is.

These folks are out-Jesseing Jesse Jackson.

Charlotte: please comment on the article.

"This is taboo. Let's not use condoms."

That's solid logic.

I don't hate smokers at all...I love my father...a life long smoker. He was diagnosed with lung cancer 3 years ago.

Melvin...it is garbage. I say clear the undergrowth.

Dist, no. I hope you respect the personal information I shared here. I love my dad. I don't blame him for his cancer. He was given his first smokes as a young marine. I don't blame folks for disease. I hope we learn to do things better. I don't smoke, I will teach my daughter not to smoke and hope she doesn't. That said, my dad is one of the greatest men I know.

This is a minor, technical point, but as a former Marine, like your dad, please when you refer to his service in the Corps, remember to capitalize "Marine".

Someone is going to have to explain the rules to me. I have shared personal information about my divorce, and Charlotte, dem and others never misses a chance to throw it in my face telling me I have bitter.

I share information about my gay friends, and Charlotte never misses an opportunity to tell me they must hate me. (Especially when she can't address the issue at hand.)

I guess the lefties can say and do whatever they want to personally hurt conservatives, but if anyone uses anything about a poor liberal, then those who would criticize the leftie must be "hateful."

Interesting standard.

I guess the bottom line is lefties get to act like 2 year-olds, but conservatives need to act like adults.

Well, actually that makes sense.

My only point, which apparently approached the hypersensitive veneer, was that smoking is claimed to be a choice, but how do we know it is not genetic. Could it be as elusive a gene as the "gay gene" or is it a choice? And if a choice, why does the smoker not get the blame for the smoking?

Charlotte's father deserves our utmost gratitude and respect for his service. I'll toast him while I am enjoying my evening cigar tonight.
