Executive Director
Founded in 1995, the Professional Logging Contractors (PLC) of Maine was formed by loggers for loggers to provide a unified voice in a rapidly changing forest industry. The Board of Directors is composed entirely of loggers. The Professional Logging Contractors of Maine developed the first in the world, Master Logger Third Party Certification program administered by the Trust to Conserve the Northeast Forest.
The Executive Director will lead and manage the Professional Logging Contractors of Maine and supporting organizations.
Responsibilities
The position is available for someone with outstanding leadership, entrepreneurial, communications, and people skills. The Executive Director will lead and manage the Professional Logging Contractors of Maine and supporting organizations. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors.
Qualifications
The Executive Director must have an outstanding ability to work effectively in teams of diverse people and organizations. S/he must have excellent skills in leadership and communications, including writing. Strong organizational, advocacy, project management, computer, problem-solving and analytical skills are required. Must be highly self motivated and directed. Must have at least five years relevant work experience relating to logging, forestry and third party certification programs.
Compensation
Full time position offers a competitive salary based on experience and an excellent benefit package. Position is located in Maine: Augusta/Portland preferred.
