Lewiston Mayor Bob MacDonald Needs Help!

The Twin City Times is asking the following question on their facebook page;
Lewiston Mayor Bob Macdonald’s column: Does he tell it like it is, or does he go too far? Should we continue to publish it? Why or why not?
Mayor Bob Macdonald tells it like it is, without any sugar coating. He has been a breath of fresh air for Lewiston. Now he is being attacked by the welfare crowd and the liberal crowd. Please, visit the TCT facebook page and weigh in. We really need people like Bob MacDonald, don't let the liberals silence him. Please.
Thanks for weighing in, MCM. It's always helpful to understand how the moonbat set views things. Do you and Coose trade off or something?
If for some reason you do not want to reply, could you please read the comments and like the ones you agree with to show support?
Some children can't handle the truth, I have no problem with what he says, maybe a little blunt but he gets people's attention
So far, the FB comments are about 25 in favor, and maybe three people against.
Our politicians aren't very bright sometimes. All he has to do is publically say, "see?? This is EXACTLY what I was talking about" in response to the Somalia group trying to commandeer City Hall and get rid of him.
He's welcome to speak his mind. They're welcome to stage protests. Somehow, I don't think the protests will have much effect on MacDonald's opinions of the situation in Lewiston.
I attended tonights city council meeting and was impressed by what I saw. Both the mayor and the Somalians in attendance were well behaved, polite and civicly engaged. They spoke passionately but without hate, only wanting to make a better Lewiston. I say shame on the small group of people trying to make a small black eye moment into a lifelong concussion, and kudos for the newest immigrants to our community who have come so far in the 9 years here. Its great to see them speaking and active. There is NO WAY the TCT should remove his column after having more than 4 years seeing Larry Gilberts columns titled "I" , "me" or "my"...but it was a fun weekly contest for my children to count the self references each time.
Robert, thank you for the update. Hopefully, the dialogue will continue, and both sides can achieve a better understanding and future for Lewiston.

Today's poll: Lewiston mayor
Should Lewiston Mayor Robert MacDonald have apologized for the comments he made about Somali immigrants?
Yes 44%
No 56%
Total Votes: 634
It was not that long ago, that another Lewiston Mayor made the slightest remark about the East African influx and he was branded a bigot and hatemonger too.
It was recently let out that St. Leo's Church in Litchfield had been sold to a real estate developer and the plans are to put in Somali housing. Well... take a guess how this is going over in Litchfield and Sabattus?
The working class in Androscoggin, many of which are Franco-American, grew up watching their parents and grandparents working 10-12 hours a day, 5 and a half to six days a week to put food on the table. Because of this, a percentage of Androscogginers have a work ethic that is perhaps second to none in the state of Maine.
So it's understandable that many of them find themselves frustrated when they see a new generation of immigrants who don't have to endure the same physical and financial hardships their ancestors did. I don't blame the Somalians... We've seen East Africa on TV. Who would really want to be there?
Bob Reed is the senate candidate in Lewiston fighting against perhaps the most liberal member of the Maine Senate, Margaret Craven. Running as a traditionally financed candidate, Bob needs some funding. I think the max you can give is $250. He's getting zero help help from the idiots who control the purse strings for the GOP Senatorial Committee. One of whom road his brothers shirt-tales to Augusta and has never left despite have zero records of accomplishments.
Lets get 100 people to send Bob $250 in the next two weeks. The Dems are on the run in Androscoggin County. What used to be a solid BLUE county is now primarily a RED county.
If you want to send a message to Augusta that you're fed up with the nanny state and excessive programs and taxes, Bob is the guy to get behind. If you're for the little guy, get behind Robert Reed for State Senate in Lewiston.
If there was ever a year for the GOP to take back Lewiston, 2012 is it.
Yes, this could be the year. Get those checkbooks out! Is Robert Reed going door to door? It's great for losing weight:-)

Welfare Not a Black- vs -White Issue
Pressman, thank you for the very kind words, and yes I do go door to door as much each evening until its past when people would want me knocking. Tonight I attended the candidate forum in Auburn sponsored by YPLAA and truly hope people understood my message..results are gained through hard work, not by simply throwing money at a problem.
Best question of the night - whats most needed in Maine infrastructure...roads, rail and energy seemed to be easy targets but my answer....EDUCATION LEADING TO JOBS..we need to create partnerships with local businesses and community colleges and voc centers to create one year certification programs for tradesmen and tradeswomen. We continue to hear about unfilled machinists jobs which pay good wages and benefits, but no one is trained, imagine the tax revenue gained at our rates now with good skilled craftsmen ready to work?.....and for years everywhere I went people talked about the strong Maine work ethic....time to do something different. Sponsor a program and see what type of employee comes out WANTING to work for you....
For those who wish to donate...checks payable to Reed for Senate, Linda Reed treasurer - 58 Albert STreet Lewiston ME 04240....state max is $350.00 and I need name address, occupation, etc. God Bless!
Thras....I was almost 380 lbs 2 years ago and now am closing in on 240....the goal remains 210...walking helps, 2 miles each day - plus climbing Katahdin, Sugarloaf (backside) Bigelow (both peaks) and others are fun on th weekends in season. Best day was 21 miles on the trail....someday...the AT!
