On a more serious note(sorry) I would like to hear from one of our legal experts, just how does these things get enforced? A civil suit?
These seen to be extremely un enforceable by anyone except a court case which is not going to be quick!

On a less than serious note if one of her team, released the agreements ,can the pictures be far off ?
Let's face it it could be just one click by mistake !!!!!!

I wonder who is paying all of Alex's bills? On one of the original comments back in May by Mumsy she reported that Alex was no longer working for the Truman National Security Project job. That and his legislative pay were his sources of income. Now, in June he sent out a letter that stated it was produced and mailed at his own expense. The letter, had it gone to just his district would have cost more than $2,000. Unfortunately for Alex the letter was sent to people outside of his district as well, so who knows how much the actual cost was. Now, place on top of that the $9,000 in legal bills for his former paramore, and we see a significant amount of money that is owed.
Who is paying for Alex and his life choices? Is it Mumsy? Who knows?

It's no wonder they'd like to get back the $20K engagement ring. I suggested they approach one of the tv court shows, where the ring would certainly be returned to them, in exchange for all the sordid details. Somehow, I have a feeling Judge Judy would have a ball with this bunch.

Bruce - from what I understand, the contract contains punitive measures for both sides, should they breach the terms of the contract.

$20K for a ring and having about the same attributes as the old commercial said of the twenty-four hour bra,(no visible means of support) it makes me wonder who really is the bankroll for this dog and pony show.
Angus, maybe????
I think it's about time the two of them get a job in the private sector.

If they are employable, that is !

Agreed. Clearly, neither Herbig nor du Houx are mature enough for elected public service.

Interesting -- the new revelations about the settlement agreement are all over the BDN and Facebook, but not one whisper on the PPH or other MTM publications. Kinda strange, since they've been covering the story up until now..

Time to buy shovel futures.

This story is beyond 'shovel ready;' it's 'shovel intensive.'

Mel,

You have coined a new term. SHovel Intensive Topic. You can put the acronym together.

Reading the comments on the BDN article was wonderfully entertaining. But I do have to agree with the Du Houx family that Herbig getting off totally scott free does not seem right.

Apollo no you do not have to!
Actually any such thing would introduce a supportive thought here into this thread which could derail it into realms where we really do not need to go!
Let us hope she is not relected and ends up as a greeter at Walmart, wait isn't it Belfast that doesn't want that either? Seems she just might be out of luck.

The Judge Judy references give me a vision of mumsy, spewing out "facts" despite repeated warnings from the Judge to let the boy speak for himself....now that would be precious to see...

her big what

That was my FIRST question when this story broke at BDN and was the reason my first account was blocked from posting there. (:+(

Ugh.

Well, Alex, buddy, I hope it was worth it.

Anyway, if this worked out, Alex, how long before she'd be cheating on YOU, pal? Sorry about the State House thing, but I think you missed a bullet, here, dude.

Count your blessings, and I hope the women in Australia work out better than this mess here.

Throw a shrimp on the barbie for me, mate!

At the risk of sounding judgemental, it appears she's not someone who allows marriage to interfere with her social life.

Hey, marriage is all about if you are happy at the moment.

Lefties have replaced "Until death do us part" with "as long as our love shall last."

Maybe she is a Seriously Loathsome Unethical Tart !!!!!

Dude, I wouldn't even to try to balance her books with YOUR pencil.

We have heard comments from Alex's Mom. We have heard comments from Alex's sister. Now it is time to hear from Alex himself. What is that old line about when finding yourself in a hole stop digging?

Cornell du Houx produced copies of numerous emails and text messages between himself and Herbig that he says prove that vast portions of her statement for the temporary protection from abuse order were untrue.

Let me read those so I can judge for myself!

He is a warrior(even though the said he didn't like the warrior thing) so he is digging a foxhole !!!!
Maybe this entire affair which became public is advanced truing to be a "Public Affairs Officer" !!! You know if we get emails and such it is a very short journey to the contents of hard drives , photographs et all!

duh-oux should make a great Public Affairs Officer. He's already had his first very public affair while in office.

He's also been raised by Maine's preeminent propagandist, who somehow has the financial wherewithal to publish a statewide periodical of liberal political theology with only the slightest bit of advertising, much of it from Dem legislators.

It's apparently the same financial honey pot that allows a legislator in his 20's, making 10K a year at that job, to think paying $20K for an engagement ring to give a married woman is a reasonable thing to do.

He's totally full of himself, and has mastered the art of whirling dervish spinning. And excuse making. And he'll no doubt have the hovering oversight of Mumsy and Sissy no matter where the Navy parks him.

Yup....he's a perfect trustworthy spokesman for the government. And he'll make a perfect president some day, Mumsy-willing.

One of Du Houx's relatives posted in the comment section of the earlier BDN article that Herbig was now having an affair with her attorney. This whole thing has devolved into slander on both sides.

It would have to be a pretty dumb attorney that would have an affair with a client. They'd drop a piano on the guy. I don't buy it.

I would like to see the e-mails, though. du Houx seems pretty eager to get them out there - and was showing them to the reporter. I'm surprised at least part of the content wasn't disclosed by the BDN. That seemed to be a deliberate omission on their part. I'd like to see those.

Unlike Bruce, I don't care about the pictures.

This was interesting: In the settlement, du Houx had to turn over any pictures of Herbig - and any other women. Why would Herbig or her attorney be interested in pictures of other women? What claim would she have to request those?

It seems like printed emails could easily be faked. Maybe the BDN wants to make sure they are authentic.

Tom really do not care about pictures but if we get emails or paper does and prints them or part of them what is the next logical step for the (see post #350) to do,if she has gotten those items
at least some could be used to prove her pints about him ! Doubt we will ever see them..

Some people seriously do not know when to stay quiet, sit on their hands, and do nothing. I'm beginning to suspect pathology, on the part of several involved with this situation.

Meanwhile, still not one word on the settlement revelations and updates in the PPH. Interesting, seeing as how previously, they were printing every word they could get. No longer.
