Erin checked the box on the order that said he had a firearm. She knows Rep. Cornell du houx does not own a firearm.

Interesting.

Anyway, I am enjoying this.

Tom:

As a former Brunswikker, did you ever run across Alex packing heat, or admitting to same?

Sure, we used to go shooting at the dump together.

He'd call me up and say: "Hey, let's go shoot some cans. .... Republi-CANS!" and laugh hysterically.

I'd tease him back: "Sure and then we can shoot some rats. ... Democ-RATS!"

(Only kidding! Never happened!)

It's an old joke, I know.

Anyway, let look at the evidence so far:

1. He has a CWP
2. His former girlfriend said he had gun(s)

Against that:

1. He said he doesn't have any guns.
2. His mother said he doesn't have any guns.

I do not believe that "he was in the past issued a permit to carry an item anywhere or any time" is probable cause to believe he has one at his house, now.

Errrr... gosh. there have been some "dynamic no-knock raids" with a lot less probable cause then we have here.

Thank you as always TJC.

Ditto to that Tom the enjoyment factor here is just wonderful. All the Paul/ Webster thing is just not the same.

She claims he made suicidal statements about ending the relationship. Perhaps she checked the box to keep him from eating the barrel of a gun, but nothing suggested anyone gave a rats ass about his well being if indeed he was suicidal and has been through hellis war.

Here's a thought.

Would you stake her entire credibility with respect to this matter on whether or not she answered the "does he have guns" statement honestly?

You should get a kick out of this comment thread on the Bowdoin Orient:

Boola Boola

Mumsy is taking to all available outlets to support her boy.

We can only wonder when she'll publish about his legal challenges on her Maine Insights site like she did on a Republican rep who got crosswise with the law: du Houx rumpswabbery

Mel - wow. If that is his mother, I hope she has a good attorney. Some unreal allegations being made.

Yes, Naran, it is. If you read her comment on BDN item, which is close to identical, you'll see her statement about how they celebrated their engagement at her house.

That comment was the first one on that article, as I was home for lunch.

Now it's gone.

BDN has cranked up it's liberal spin machine again.

Stephen,
Fear not mommy is taking care of him!!!!
Let's not advance the PTSD prematurely here , I suspect w/ out the war thing, all of them are hellish. he would still have been where he is now IMHO !
Using your best CO observation skills look at his picture and think about what you instantly see ! It is all there.
Do not post it here we still have standards.

From the BDN Article posted already: "In the statement, Herbig said the romantic relationship began in late 2011 and continued through the early part of this year. After ending the relationship with Cornell du Houx, Herbig claims he threatened suicide and refused to stop contacting her after she asked him to do so."

If all the professional interventions were made to include Police contacts, shouldn’t there be some mention of steps taken to address the suicidal statements?

Seems like the mom, if that is who made the posts, could easily be sued for libel from posting those comments. Maybe that is why they have been deleted.

As I understand it, legisvermin expenses are unvouchered. Accountability is for the little people.

She will need every penny she can get her hands on to deflect the attempts to discredit her by the democrat machine.

The Bowdoin Orient seems to have the oddest collection of 'first hand' comments, some of which talk to a rather creepy side of yon alum. Hard to figure how the romance 'started' in 'late 2011' and they celebrated their engagement at Mumsy's at Christmas time.

I know this isn't an Angus King thread, but his endorsement of Cornell du Houx is most telling. It marks him with blue ink as a machine democrat, because the race involved was a three way, with a Green 'independent' running. It was the perfect opportunity for Angus to show his 'non-partisan' cred, plus he's had Green blood running through his system for decades. NRCM, wind-power, forest compacts, etc.

Just more proof that those that are screwed up need to be screwed down.

Talk about screwed up.

Read some of the posts on daddy's blog and you can see how the boy got to where he is.

Dad sounds like a one-percenter. I don't mean this in a bad way. Anybody who makes money from patents on means of connecting electrical cables has "contributed".

Only if they are untrue and cause financial damage. There doesn't seem to be any clear "per se" defamation in the mix, given the admission of romantic relationship needed to get the order.
