Oh I agree eagleisland, but the current ongoing cannibalism, lacks the elements of salacious behavior, involving ethics of holding office, causing mummy to be up set, defamation of the Marines, disloyalty to voters who elected him, causing Emily to have the vapors, and just your run of the mill stuff to peak the interests prurient interests of political observers .
On top of they do any of the players in that other thing have a funny name?

Your point is well taken. While I'm not proud of the fact, I'll admit that I'm enjoying this one too. Ideological battles are rather dry and tedious by comparison, are they not?

Apparently, Angus loves Cornell du Houx.

Video Link

"Cornell du Houx represents my district in Brunswick and has done so effectively and I also admired his service to the country in our armed forces. For these reasons, Mary and I were happy to support his last campaign. I am surprised and saddened to hear about these allegations because domestic violence is never acceptable under any circumstances." -- Angus King, May 2012

No I will bet "Mary" told him he better say something!
Chances are he will not be the campaign photographer!

because domestic violence is never acceptable under any circumstances.

I'm confused, is Angus King saying that there WAS domestic violence here? If so, why didn't the leadership demand he resign?

hear about these allegations

Well, only allegations, then!

I'm still confused... are allegations also never acceptable?

Well, then I guess he has a lot in common with our governor, then!

Interestingly, Mumsy's passionate defense of the lad - posted shortly after the article appeared - is now gone.

No wonder I couldn't find it.

I have the feeling the entire family is as 'eccentric' as they come, for want of a better word.

And images of moons and bats come to mind as well.

Cornell Copies King's MO -- "Won't Say" Whether He'll Withdraw from Race.

Golly. I wonder where du Houx learned to do that?

I wonder if the Dems will still think it's such a swell maneuver... they seem to love King's own use of the tactic.

Meanwhile, du Houx has left the country, for two weeks in Australia. Hope Ben Grant has a good international phone/text plan.

Meanwhile, du Houx' mother continually fails to disclose their relationship on her website, "Maine Insights." It also appears that "Efficiency Maine" advertises on her site. How much does that cost Maine taxpayers, and is it a proper use of the "system benefit" money charged on our electric bills?

Why do I have this picture of him in a Aussie bush hat and vest, maybe Croc.Dundee style hat ???
There again I hope in the interests of international relations(opposed to theater kind) he finds himself in company w/ some Aussie Army soldiers and shares his opinions about the War etc. etc..
This could only lead to not good things. I hope he doesn't attempt to consume adult beverages w/ his new friends ( tried that once I do not remember much except the pain of hangover) !!
I suppose "Waltzing Matilda" would be a catchy campaign tune.

This has everything and then some !

P.S. Dear Alex Beware upon return the Brunswick if you see a large Humvee heading your way someone knows how the tire tracks will look on your back they have it ,in their sites!

Even though I personally stated that I lived outside the community for nearly a year.

Considering all the polish and braggadocio in the piece by his "mumsy", in the linked piece, one can't help but wonder where, and who taught him, that you deal with a lady..........with a club like the cavemen did!

That's funny, Bruce, I saw him as more of a confused Jason Borne, trying to figure out who he REALLY was!

"Was he a stalker, an abuser, a man who didn't hesitate to bring up his military training and CCW to terrify lovers?

"Or was he merely an advocate of the middle class, a fighter for his constituents, who just had trouble relating to women?

"And who was this weird chick chasing him - just who was stalking who?

"He only knew had to go to Australia to find out the answers!"

Tom - very good. :))

If one peruses RamonaHoux' "activity" on Disqus, it appears Mumsie has been very busy, indeed - ferreting out endless sites on which to post The Official Defense.

Go to the page here, scroll down to "reader comments," find "RamonaHoux" and click on her avatar. Then select "activity" from the tabs on the window that comes up.

So now mumsy is "RAMONAHOUX" instead of 'Ramona du Houx?'

Is this some sort of childish attempt to go 'dark?'

By the way, how about if she renames her baby boy "Alex Bowdoin du Houx."

He went to Bowdoin, not Cornell, and besides, here in Maine, Cornell has no cache compared to Bowdoin, Bates, and Colby.

Well, Cornell du Houx IS Pater's last name. Though perhaps, Melvin, one should also consider that the lad is perhaps being groomed for greater things. Outside of Maine, Bowdoin and Colby are considered marginally acceptable places if Mumsy and Pater have the dough but you weren't bright enough (or sufficiently connected) to gain entrance to an Ivy.

You know, I'm looking at this picture, and there's something about it...

I see it - his FEET! In proportion to the rest of his body, they're HUGE! Look at the size of those feet!

Hmmmm.... I wonder if I just figured out what attracted her to him in the first place.

Would that be due to the stability those large feet would provide???

Oh, gosh, and no "round heels" jokes either.

Good Lord, what a collective mind we have.

The lastest news articles bring up the question of when the relationship started.

The divorce was filed November 2011, and she is claiming the relationship STARTED then. But he started counselling for "relationship issues" in November, as well.

Does it make sense they would start their relationship by sending him to couselling?

It seems to me almost certain that the relationship started before that.

Why doesn't Herbig just 'fess up, and get it behind her? A tearful confession, regret, aknowledgement that "people were hurt" by her actions. It would make great press! The Lifetime channel would be calling her to pen a screenplay "based on a true story!"

Whether they like it or not, these people are held up as examples for us. Adultery without consequences is a lousy moral example.

UPDATE:

I have the timeline wrong. The divorce was filed in August, 2011 by Herbig's ex. That could cast a different light on the hows and whys. I think du Houx has maintained the relationship started early or mid-2011, if that's so, then the original moral issues would stand.

I, however, can understand someone distraught over their spouse's filing of divorce, flinging themselves into the arms of another lover for comfort.

Err... not that I would ever do something like that. Or that I wouldn't do it. Or that I have done it. Or haven't. Whatever.

A question has arisen.
Have we ever faithful AMGers' gotten so involved that we have passed over that glorious picture and the
need for a "caption contest it so screams for"?

Tom I defer to your Bourne post you are correct.
Also the feet do look huge.
