Hey, you three guys, all I can say is, it must be a slow day on your end. LOL.

Never judge a book by its cover, unless you want to have a few laughs, that is.

We're troubled by a quote from du Houx’s attorney in a Forecaster article:

Hamm said that "Alex and Erin got together in May of 2011 ... (and) were engaged in December of 2011," before the February breakup. Hamm said that the couple began living together in June 2011.

One would take from this that the two principles had been living together for more than 6 months.

As we see it, this raises an issue of residency as it relates to holding elected office representing a legislative district. At least it should, shouldn’t it?

We’ll go out on a limb here and hypothesize they were not living together in Brunswick. If so, shouldn’t this raise serious concerns regarding du Houx’s legitimacy to hold office representing Brunswick? And what about his qualifications to vote in last fall’s election in Brunswick?

On the same note, what about Herbig’s residency qualifications in her district?

Based on the actions of the principals, I might say there was a lack of principles.

Had it been a staff member, or constituent, they could have ooo'd and ahhh's at his virility.

However, another Democratic congressperson - not so much.

Hmmm... I wonder if they would have ooo'd and ahhh'd if he had nailed a REPUBLICAN congresswomen?

Would then, this have been view in the media as merely a persoanl matter, and a political vendetta by a scarlet woman scorned?

"Good ole lovable Bill, hah hah!" Untold millions jealous of Monica, and living vicariously through her.

"Who could blame him....look at the B EYE itch he's married to!"

Not much of the above applies here, though I'll listen to theories that mumsy could be another sort of Hillary.

Nice theory let's look at it a little bit.
Mummsy = mother
Alex= child

Hillary =mother
Bill = child

Ya that works!

Hmm. It has been several days now with out comment from Pretty Fortunate Alex (PFA) or the meddlesome Mom. If only to be a fly on the wall of the discussions of how next to proceed. And what about the ringing endorsement from Stan the Man, the State Senator from Brunswick. "I guess I will end up supporting him (Alex) either way". Ouch!

LTTE supporting du Houx (Not from mommy!)

The temporary protection order against Rep. Alex Cornell du Houx, D-Brunswick, by his former fiance was dismissed and withdrawn from the court on May 14. Then the Maine Democratic Party chairman, Ben Grant, denounced Alex.

Letter: Brunswick rep treated unfairly by party leader

From :
Jason R. White, CEO
Maine Behavioral Health Organization
Rockland

Jason, get with it. In Maine, a mere accusation of domestic violence means you are guilty of same, and should resign in disgrace, while mumbling "there's no excuse for domestic abuse!" as you creep away with your tail between your legs.

That's the policy that has been adopted by Governor LePage... and so it's good enough for everybody!

It seems like the party should ask Herbig to drop out too - not living in her district, affair while married, etc.

In my mailbox this morning was a letter from Representative duHoux himself... addressed to... ME!

Produced at his own expense, and printed on recycled paper, (he claims) it is a double-sided resume of his most proud achievements, including:

"... passing legislation to reduce the state's dependency on oil, which improves our energy security and economic dependency. Gov. LePage praised another law of mine that protects oil and gas consumers..."

"In a new book - On Point: Voices and Values of the Young Elected Officials - I was fortunate enough to become one of seven lawmakers whose stories were highlighted by Jeff L. Thigpen."

"Former U.S. Senate Majority Leader George J. Mitchell wrote an introduction to the book. I'm incredibly honored that he said, 'Alex's commitment to serving the greater good may be equaled by a rare few, but it is surpassed by none.'"

Parsing the letter carefully, nowhere does he state that it IS his intention to run again, nor does it claim he is withdrawing. It is signed "Alex" cursive-handwritten in blue fine-point pen.

Apollo - it's ALWAYS the man's fault. Women are little impressionable, vunerable creatures, easily led astray, or even driven to physical aggression - and at the root of each female transgression you will always find an evil, abusive man.

Don't you watch the Lifetime channel?

How dare you try to hold a woman - especially a Democratic femininst - responsible for her own actions.

More proof that you "just don't get it."

Neandrathal!

Du Houx tried to get the Legislature to let him use his representative newsletter to plead his case with his constituents, but they said "no." Which was correct. Apparently, he didn't want to spend the money to do it himself.

Tom - if you still have the envelope, did they use first class postage, or is there a frank mark?
Thanks.

Good find, Apollo.

Then there's this item, in which a newly minted family member, RamonaHoux, comments:

How dare someone run for Alex's seat?

In fact, now that I think of it, we may have a Kennedy family mentality at work here.

It's a stamp with an Amercan flag that says "Equality Forever". (I think it is a forever stamp with the slogan "Equality".) I've never seen this particular stamp, but my guess is it's a first class stamp.

First class mailings are expensive, if he sent out a few thousand of these, it probably put a dent in his wallet.

Just part of his allowance from Mumsy. How's he gonna become President if he can't keep this seat? And slide into Stan's when he terms out?

Tom, that is a regular, first class stamp. The "forever" stamps are called that because they last permanently, even if prices go up. Melvin, I can't see the comment from his mom. Did it get deleted?

I thought the same thing, back when Herbig and du Houx were outed as having a relationship. "Camelot Wishes and Dynasty Dreams."
