And besides, Mel, shutting them down would leave the Maine media with no one to cheerlead for Baldacci.
You know you've got an economic problem when you have a left-wing bleeder as Director of a so-called Chamber of Commerce. Here's another liberal who's duped a bunch of trusting souls into financing his life of rubbing shoulders with the Governing class and living out his activist fantasies through our taxes.[ 06-22-2003: Message edited by: Melvin Udall ]
George -Other problems with the Maine Chamber of Commerce and Industry:* The moment it morphed into a "quasi-government agency" was the moment the MECOCI lost its independence, its ability to weigh in objectively on issues.* The MECOCI does a masterful job at portraying itself as the Mothership of all Maine Chambers of Commerce. The MECOCI is no such thing. It is its own entity - just as other Maine Chambers are their own entitites.skf
The MECOCI is just like the Maine Council of Churchres....they PURPORT to represent all kinds of population base, and hijact that imprimatur in their dealings. They all need to be exposed for what they are, and then shut down.
