I'm thinking this is an improvement for Maine. Maine usually ranks in the low to high 40's in most of these studies. Texas ranked #1. Out of ten categories, Maine ranked 4th in Quality of Life; 6th in Education. To put things into perspective, Texas ranked 35th in Quality of Life and 26th in Education.

It will take years to reverse the hole progressives have put us in

It could take years or it could take months, depends on the national economy as well...but priority #1 should be welcoming any jobs to Maine, instead of 40 years of waiting for perfect "hi-tech" or professional jobs only and discouraging everything else. You gotta start someplace.

Rush says that every state with a Republican Governor has a lower unemployment rate - breitbart backs it up here... http://tinyurl.com/7v576jm

Why don't Republicans spread news like this in campaigns or conversation?

Don't those tens of millions living and working and loving and playing in Texas know their quality of life is worse than ours?
What's wrong with those people?
And why are people moving there all the time?
So what if they have jobs and money.
Sheesh.

In my view, the quality of life in Texas is equal to or better than ours in Maine. Simply depends on where you live. Quality of life in Portland compared to Lee, Maine? Thanks. I'd choose Lee, Maine. Quality of life in downtown Houston vs. Marble Falls, Texas. Thanks, I'll take Marble Falls.

This is a huge improvement. We used to alternate between dead last or #49.

The headline should read "Maine Improves Sharply to 35th Best Place to do Business". Think about it:-)

Good suggestion. Done with some slight variation in wording. Thanks.

Thank you, Dale. Naturally, this wonderful and welcome news is being completely ignored by the MSM, in favor of beating up the Governor for daring to voice the common knowledge that many IRS transactions with citizens resemble that of thuggery.

Thank you, Governor LePage and your team, for all the hard work in Augusta!!!

In 2014, I look forward to writing "FOUR MORE YEARS!"
