Maine's Official New Cocktail

Saw the drink name on another site, and thought it was hilarious. So, here's a recipe.

One tall glass with ice.
Pour in half a bottle of Moxie.
Add a 1/2 cup of Maine Potato Vodka.
Stir well, and serve with a very long straw.*

= MOXYCONTIN

* (as the straw corrodes from the mixture, it gets shorter).

The Official Maine Cocktail

The Official Maine Cocktail should be the Low Tide cocktail. Equal parts Allen's Coffee Brandy and bottled clam juice.

As an unofficial observer,

As an unofficial observer, renowned drunkard, tireless researcher of all things alcohol related, I must point out that some of these mixtures are nothing new. For years, there has been a drink called the "Burnt Trailer" Moxie+Allens over ice, named as such for the piquant aroma that subtly reminds one of burnt wiring in a backwoods over-aged trailer.
I have said for at least the last few years that somewhere in the universe, there is an alcohol that can be mixed with Moxie and not result in immediate return to the nearest trash can. I've yet to find it...but I shall. "It tasks me.."

The "screechie" comes to

The "screechie" comes to mind. That is Screech from Newfoundland and Moxie from Maine. For those unfamiliar with Screech it is a heavy rum that still has a trace of molasses flavor to it. It is as popular in Newfoundland as Allens is in Maine. If the Newfies take a liking to you there is a ceremony called being "Screeched in". It results in your becoming an honorary Newfoundlander and sometimes as much as the first half of the ceremony is remembered.

Bob,
Try Old Crow Bourbon with Moxie. Might call it "Burnt Crow".
I once saw celestial beings drinking that back in the 70's!! LOL!
