Citing inflammatory language while expressing his displeasure with President Barack Obama, the military has uninvited rock star and conservative political activist Ted Nugent from performing at Fort Knox in Kentucky, according to the U.S. Army post's Facebook page.

I want to stand behind that elbow.

Whatever you do, Ted, please don't issue one of those politically correct statements: If my words offended you, I'm sorry ...

General Patton must be whirling in his grave about now.

Let us remember that he was not invited to a lot of things also by the military ,such as D Day and a couple other things before that !

Well....look at it this way. The Nuge gets up there an goes on a rant about The Obmessiah and the troops give a rousing OOORAH!!

The career REMF's (borrowed from Tom Clancy) and Obama's political advisers would never give it a chance to happen

WV - precisely. After President Obama's recorded message was reportedly booed at Fenway Park the other day, I wouldn't give odds on the troops necessarily dissing Nugent.

He was invited to Vietnam in the 60's, but declined the offer.

Sorry, I was talking about Patton ,as far as Vietnam well each to his own and given the times I would say it probably wasn't a bad choice to make , career wise !

Actually for those who were there, who did come and who didn't , really didn't rise to a high priority actually most really didn't give a crap one way or the other,IMHO.

Far worse that the language used by Nugent is the REPORT of same by some aspects of the MSM. They imply he predicted that Obama would be dead or in jail. In fact, Nugent stated that NUGENT HIMSELF might be dead or in jail. The reports did so by using the ambiguous "he".

I have said before on these pages that my ideal ticket this year would be Palin/Nugent. We are praying for a brokered convention. Can we keep Romney under the "magic number"? Time will tell.

I'd vote for Nugent! We have a Bangor City Council member who is calling for cancelation of Ted's scheduled Concert on the Bangor Waterfront as well. RT

Poll Question
Should Ted Nugent be allowed to play in Bangor?

Yes 78.29% (1,410 votes)

No 21.71% (391 votes)

Total Votes: 1,801

To me, the Bangor councilors pressuring the concert promoter to cancel are way out of line.

Two Bangor councilors want Ted Nugent concert scratched, promoter sees no need

BANGOR, Maine — Waterfront Concerts promoter Alex Gray ...doesn’t plan to call off Ted Nugent’s Bangor performance despite remarks from two city councilors that...controversial rock star shouldn’t be allowed to play in the city.

Last week, Councilor Charlie Longo emailed a letter to Gray saying that the concert series shouldn’t allow Nugent to perform because of comments he made during a National Rifle Association convention in St. Louis. Longo later posted the letter to his website.

Yes he should because it would be a violation of his 1st amendment rights if not IMHO.
However the military is free to operate under different criteria in it's decisions as to what goes on on bases!

I am sure it is me but if not for his notoriety of his 2nd amendment stands I, cannot remember one bit of music that I can attribute to TN.

Bangor councilors largely silent on Ted Nugent controversy at meeting

“I find the thought of using the council to try to limit freedom of speech repugnant,” said Stephen Breau. ....

“The rate of sales for that show doubled over the weekend,” Gray said. ....

Longo ...felt it was his right to exercise his freedom of speech, but he also recognized other rights.

“I also respect Alex Gray’s decision that a private entity shouldn’t be dictated to about what they should be doing,” he said.

Oy. We're rockin' to Cat Scratch Fever here on AMG.

Could you picture Romney trying to look presidential dancing to that song with Ann?

Or how about Ron and Carol?

Or how 'bout Newt and Obama agreeing to a one-on-one Basketball match to settle their differences? O might have inside game, but don't doubt Newt's accuracy from 3 point land

Seriously, if we get to a brokered convention, as Roger and I hope for, I'd like it to be settled to good old fashioned way - with a chess match round robin style! - we could even invite Santorum back for it. And let Nugent be the referee. If things get "out of hand", "The Nuge" gets to decide how to settle it best (gulp).

Or how 'bout cribbage?

Who's got "his Nobs"?

The suns out, I'm gettin' giddy with it...

Outrage, Inc.: Councilor’s Nugent comments nothing but political showboating

....Longo sent a letter to Alex Gray, CEO of Waterfront Concerts...hosting Nugent’s performance in Bangor. ....Longo decided to take a self-congratulatory victory lap for his good deed, and post the letter to his website and mention it every chance he could.

....Longo closes by declaring, “Regardless of your feelings on the upcoming election this November, I believe we both agree there is no room for violence in our democracy.”

Attempting to punish political speech should be something we all seek to avoid, and a city councilor should know better.

Ted Nugent Drummer Arrested In Bangor

According to police in Bangor, Maine, Nugent’s drummer, 55-year-old Mick Brown, was arrested Sunday after allegedly stealing a golf cart from Bangor’s waterfront pavilion, where Nugent had just performed with Styx and REO Speedwagon. When confronted by officers, an intoxicated Brown allegedly attempted to flee in the golf cart, according to police reports. Brown reportedly shoved an officer away from the commandeered cart before another officer pulled him out of the vehicle.

OJ made the white Ford Bronco famous, but the golf cart will still remain dull unless you’re an islander that used one as the primary mode of transportation.

Off to the races... :)
