As of early Wednesday, 580,530 people had signed up on a Facebook page started by Fox News talk show host Mike Huckabee calling for people to eat at their local Chick-fil-A restaurant Aug. 1 as part of an event he dubbed “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.”
Same here.
Yazzah !
The most beautiful thing about this is, in his statement the owner said simply we believe in the biblical definition of marriage.
We are closed on Sunday.
Someone who kept it simple and couched in a way to make it hard to argue against it w/ out being an idiot.
Of course most SSM groups are just that.
Currently, 594,433 people are listed as "going," or planning to visit a Chick-fil-A restaurant today. Another 61,502 people have joined the page, and are listed as "maybe" visiting a Chick-fil-A restaurant today. The number of people joining the page is rising by hundreds per MINUTE.
Awesome, the Chik Fil A supporters are BURYING the loud-mouth haters.
Take that, liberals!
No matter how one feels about SSM, the right to Free Speech, and expression of one's religious beliefs are unalienable rights, and should be supported.
The entire SSM debate has nothing to do with being "gay", it's about using social pressure to destroy American values.
My sister in Pennsylvania called today and said that she went to her local Chick-Fil-A and there are hundreds of people there. The line is clear out the door and winding around the parking lot.
I hope they sell so much today that they have to close tomorrow for lack of food.
Gee; shades of the 'silent majority.'
I wonder what the reaction would be to 'traditional married couples' holding 'kiss-ins' at Blue Dolphin type cruiser bars?

I had never heard of chick fil a until this happened. I'll bet there are a bunch of other people who just recently heard about it like me. What a great way to unintentionally promote a business. oo

Police and fire crews closed down the Chick-fil-A on Foxcroft Avenue in Martinsburg for nearly three hours following a bomb threat that was called in just before 1 p.m. today.
According to a release from police, the location of the call was traced and the investigation is following up on leads about the male caller.
Have fun in prison, bomb-threatener.
The turn-out in support of free speech and Judeo-Christian morality this week is a warm-up act for the wave in November that will sweep the Chicago thugs out of Washington, and deliver bigger GOP majorities in Maine's Legislature.
I hope so Larry.
Take - I say - take that!

Meanwhile, in Burlington, Mass. - a state where same-sex marriage is legal, there was this scene.
What a great way to unintentionally promote a business. ~1Maine1lostcause
Some of my liberal friends are decrying and debasing CFA to the point you'd think CFA hung gays while on break. I posted this in response to some rabid liberals:
“So now the LBGT community has started a PR war with a company who sought no war and whose only ‘crime’ is a different belief set. Congratulations, you just set the US back many years. Rather than ‘respect’ Dan Cathy's beliefs, he is supposed to bend and capitulate to the whim of those with whom he does not align. Why is it he has to bend and not the LBGT community? Why can’t they just respect his opinion and leave him and his company alone to do as they will? Sure, eat somewhere else, that’s your right. But to decry and debase him because of those beliefs puts you in exactly the same position of that which you admonish.
This issue has now come to the forefront via the LBGT community, so they obviously want it known. If they had not made such a stink about it, I never would have known about it since it’s not news. However, now that it is news, the rift between the LBGT community and those whose support is being sought is widening. This is counterproductive. In EVERY state where SSM was on the ballot it was defeated. I would think there is a lesson there: the lesson would be to promote your message with as little fanfare as possible or risk enraging that majority who does not align with you. As a direct result of this issue making the limelight, CFA has been swamped with business from those same people. Great job at doing the opposite of what you intended.
Different is not wrong, it’s just different…whether it’s a LBGT person or someone with devout biblical beliefs. They both deserve the same respect.”
Liberals need a focus of their anger, because without drama they are lost. They are not content with life in general and cannot move on without it. In the absence of a focus, they create one. They hate, hate, hate, and are never happy with what they do, no matter what gains are made. Rabid is a term I used above that is more than fitting, it is calculated. I say this because no other single word describes the completely off the wall ideas or the voracity with which they execute their plans. Rational thought rarely comes into play, and when a glimmer shows up, they don't know what to do with it and usually (verbally) attack whomever is with them that is not of like mind. It truly is a mental disorder.
This CFA 'issue' fits that description perfectly. They need to inflate an idea, that has worked for a company since 1946, into something 'evil' so more like minded non-thought liberals will get behind it. They do without pause and create a hate filled directive against the company (boycott), which instead garners support for the company and not their cause, which enrages them further. I have some gay friends of mine who are sitting on the sidelines because they refuse to become part of the liberal illusion CFA did anything wrong. This just further irritates the ones who are doing it 'for the gay cause' because some in the LGBT community don't agree with them.
Jeepn, well said. I doubt the LGBT crowd would get it though.
........"Rational thought rarely comes into play, and when a glimmer shows up, they don't know what to do with it and usually (verbally) attack whomever is with them that is not of like mind"........
This is so true. We have family who are members of the LGBT community, and in recent years have become "rabid activists"for the cause. Their facebook pages contain an onslaught of this activism, routine posting of pictures, and ideas, that we find disturbing happen often. This "rub their noses in it" activism will damage their movement in our eyes.
We are "live and let live" people who do not go behind bedroom doors. We would not dream of taking our sexuality so "public" yet this movement has no apprehension about doing that at all. We would not dream of posting pictures of ourselves hugging and kissing, in such a public place as Facebook, yet that does not bother this crowd one whit!
I have thought about this a lot and believe that they are trying to use the political process in order to "legitamize" their choice of lifestyle, yet in reality what I think they are really doing.......is trying to convince themselves that this choice of lifestyle is OK.
I think that "demonizing the opposition" is not the way to run a sucessful public relations campaign but time will tell and we will see if it works or not!

I have some gay friends and they are good people. One is the most stout conservative you could find (and he defends CFA), and another is very religious, yet more you could never tell (I even hit on her back when I was single). None hide the fact they are gay and they openly admit it, but none flaunt it around either since it's not how they define themselves. I see them as the regular members of the LBGT community with these activists as the fringe. Someone even called my friend a homophobe, and didn't they get an earful.
While they do not agree with my stance on homosexual marriage, they accept that it is my opinion and one I have backed with rational arguments. I have no issue with the concept, but the terminology is already taken, sorry. They don't get bent out of shape about it but I can tell they're disappointed and do not wish to carry on the conversation.
I just don't want to give the impression that everyone in the LBGT community are liberals, because that is not the case, and I don't think I made the point earlier.
It's the same thing when blacks or hispanics are Republicans, they are considered traitors, and open to all of the vile hate and racism the left has to offer.
Jeepn, thank you for the information and details - very interesting. I have had similar experiences with gay friends.
FYI, Chick-fil-A had a record-breaking sales day on August 1st, by all accounts. I don't believe the big sales are over, either. Like others, I read that many who were previously unacquainted with the company's products are now bigtime fans.
Long live the First Amendment, and the right to free and open expression of religious beliefs in the USA!
FRICKASIE a liberal; eat at Chick-fil-A.

"Jeepn, well said. I doubt the LGBT crowd would get it though."
Even if they did, they would deny it.
I have some gay friends and they are good people.
"Gay marrigage" has nothing to do with being gay.
It's about turning the main building block that contributes to society into another trough of "rights and benefits."

Good for them, I wish there was one close by so I could participate.
