Obama has touted the tax credit as one of the big achievements of his first 100 days in office, boasting that 95 percent of working families will qualify in 2009 and 2010 (but) Millions of Americans enjoying their small windfall from President Barack Obama's..tax credit are in for an unpleasant surprise ...The government is going to want...that money back... (the) new tax withholding tables issued by the IRS could cause millions of taxpayers to get hundreds of dollars more than they are entitled to under the credit, money that will have to be repaid at tax time.

I predicted this when I heard about a liberal offering a "tax cut." Would have added it to the previous thread I started but can't find it. How many will be happy with The One when they get a bill from the Obama IRS wanting the "government's money" back?....

I doubt the "serfdom" will be able to figure out they are paying more.

What no comments from Democrat touting the tax cuts. I was always surprised at how easily liberals can be bought, $13/wk wow. And just as it was explained here on AMG, you would be giving it back at tax time. So the One has already increased taxes in the first 100 days, can't wait to see what tax is next.

Nice try at blaming Obama. Everyone will still get just what he promised. The only ones giving money back will be the ones who got too much back in the first place by working more than one job. Most of you are getting your tax cut right now. Enjoy!

Some 15.4 million taxpayers could receive smaller refunds than they expected or owe taxes next year because they did not have enough money withheld from their paychecks as part of the (Obama's) Making Work Pay tax credit program, according to a report issued Monday....workers with more than one job, some married couples in which both spouses work, and some Social Security recipients with jobs.

Nice try at blaming Obama.

Misinformed by his advisers, no doubt.

Everyone will still get just what he promised.

This is correct, depending which promise we're looking at.

The president and his advisers seem to want it both ways on the tax cuts. On the one hand, they correctly identify those cuts -- which were not paid for -- as being one of the major culprits in creating the $1.3 trillion deficit the new administration inherited.

At the same time, the White House itself is not proposing to let those tax cuts expire -- a move that would raise an estimated $2 trillion over 10 years. Nor is it proposing to pay for the cost of making them permanent.

If one makes lots of promises, sooner or later some promise will turn out to be true. But here's one promise that's not gonna happen:

"I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes."
