the crowd may be cranky and the food certainly is subpar....but it's free. so when she asks me next friday evening if we're going out to Pat's for a beer and pizza, I can say, "nah, we just went out to breakfast."

What time should I be there? ;-)

Wow, the crowd at Denny's in Auburn is happy, and the food is pretty good. I like taking my grandson there.

In the restaurant scheme of things, it's pretty hard to screw up breakfast, but I've had some meals at Denny's over the years that were completely forgettable.*

Give me a "Mom and Pop" diner any day, and some real food, even if I have to pay for it.

* (in fairness, the same can be said about Friendly's and Hojo's, too.... all those chains just take the stuff out of the box or the freezer).

I think they advertised 6 am to 2 pm on the Superbowl. I can assure you I am going to be very far way from that free for all.

Wonder if they will have the new transgender bathroom up and running.

Last time they gave away the Free Grand Slam in Auburn, Maine the line of Somalians waiting to get in went around the building, which really surprised me as I didn't think they ate pork, and without the bacon and sausage, its more like a slim slam than a grand slam. Perhaps I'll wait till it's my birthday as Denny's isn't all that bad. Not great, but not bad.

When I read the title of this thread I thought: Oh, the wife must be meeting her boyfriend at Denny's!

LOL. Good one, Swampy. Sorry, but IMO Denny's has some of the worst food sold in American restaurants. Not one fresh item available on their menu - not even cole slaw or a tomato slice.

That's because they can't freeze it, or pour it out of a box.

I would avoid Denny's like the plague on "soup kitchen" day.
