(CNN) -- The U.S. Navy said its guided missile destroyer collided with a Japanese-owned oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz early Sunday morning.

No one was injured in the collision that occurred about 1 a.m. local time when the USS Porter collided with the Panamanian-flagged bulk oil tanker M/V Otowasan, the Navy said in a statement.

The Navy did not provide details about the collision, saying only the accident was not related to combat. It said the incident is under investigation. ...

I sense the end of a naval commander's career, all of a sudden.

USN Commanding Officer Abdullah Muchmett Wacheem immediately told the Captain of the foundering Japanese tanker that he is "Vewwy, vewwy sowwy" for ramming... err... colliding with his ship, and that it will never happen again.... Ensha'llah (Allah willing).

Apparently the crew were all below decks celebrating their collective gay pride, and weren't paying much attention to where their destroyer was going.

Isn't diversity great??!!!

From the damage, it looks like the U. S. ship was rammed. Destroyers can't go sideways. The CO is still in trouble. You are not supposed to let other ships ram you either.

More pictures. Under any circumstances, the destroyer had to be the more manueverable of the two. Regardless, they shouldn't have been within a half mile of each other. This is going to take some splainin'.

Bosun's Mate to Coxwain (under the map table): Betcha can't DO IT SIDEWAYS!

Coxwain (lighting a cigarette and rolling over to the bridge): Wanna BET??? Hold my beer an' watch THIS!!!!

When is the Navy yard gonna retrofit all the submarines (that haven't been torched by lunatics yet) with a bath house amidships and paint them all pink?

It ain't your Pappa's Navy any more, Matey!

Okay, UncleJacque, unless you've got specific knowledge, that's outta line.

I'll agree that someone on the destroyer messed up - there is NO way that a modern US Navy vessel, with the level of training and equipment on board, should have screwed up in this fashion. It could have been the helmsman, more likely the OOD. Odds are the CO and the XO were both off watch and asleep, and odds are good that the CO will pay the price for this anyway.

Meantime, there's a lot of good people in all branches of the military. Mistakes happen in wartime, and the Persian Gulf is, essentially, a wartime theater.

So whaddya got to support your idea that the US Navy in the 21st Century has returned to the "Rum, Buggery and the Lash" of the British navy of the 18th?

So you call the CO a Muslim terrorist - the crew all gay... and the deck watch drunk --- Really?

Calm down guys; essentially just a little interservice joshing her - an old Army Vet poking a little fun at the Swabbies. l'm surprised that the Marines haven't jumped in on this one. .. yet.

As far as a basis for my admittedly hyperbolic sarcasm, let's start with the Obama Syndicate... err... "administration" not only throwing "Dont ask don't tell" SOP overboard, but encouraging a major revival of "Gay Pride" in all of the military - not just the Navy.

Defense Department Hosts First LGBT Pride Month Event

Now I don't know if the Skipper was a Muslim or not, but we do know that Islam has infiltrated our military extensively, and as far as I'm concerned any Muslim who takes his faith / ideology / Quran seriously is an enemy of the Untied States... they HAVE to be, otherwise they are considered an "Infidel" by orthodox Islam and Sharia Law. They pretend to be "friendly" and on our side while they have to... it's called Taqiyya and Hudna - but when they get a chance or receive orders from a superior Mullah they must and will turn on us, just like Maj. Nidal Hussan the Jihad Army shrink who murdered a dozen or so of his unarmed GI "buddies" for Allah at Ft. Hood.

How about those 3 Marine Officers who were recently murdered by their "friendly" Afghani Police host over breakfast he'd invited them to. They trusted a Muslim and paid the price, didn't they?

Now scads of them are wearing "our" uniforms, on our bases, aboard our ships and aircraft, working and fighting shoulder to shoulder with US "Infidels", and being trusted with sensitive defense intel and tactical assets. Great... just great.

They can have no loyalty other than to Islam.... period. Do You trust 'em?

How many of the Crew aboard this destroyer are Muslim? I have no idea, but there are probably at least a few.
All it takes is one to push a button, flip a switch, pull a plug at a crucial moment.... I wouldn't trust a one of them.

Allen West: US Military infiltrated by Islamic terrorists

Does that answer your questions, guys?

The point of my sarcasm (and it does have a point) is that the currently ruling regime has set our military - as well as our nation - on a course which if you will plot it out on the chart of history and extend it in the direction it's headed, is going to seriously pile us up on the rocks... if we don't carom off of an oil tanker or a mine on the way, that is.

I don't think that the gross incompetence demonstrated in this embarrassing accident evolved in isolation.

We now have members and Officers in our military who are more loyal to a barbaric and tyrannical 7th century theo-political ideology /cult than to our Country, flag, or their uniform or service. Many more of them are probably more proud of their sexual proclivity (dare I say "perversion"?) than they are of their mission, Unit or Ship.
How are you going to maintain morale or unit cohesiveness under these conditions?
How in the world are we going to maintain prime combat readiness to ensure our national security if the politicians meddle with and arguably sabotage our military to the point where it goes to hell in a handcart and is being incrementally dismantled and surrendered to our enemies?

What are we going to do if we ever have to fight a serious global war with an enemy who has a real military at their disposal?

Get me point, Maties? (Aaaarrrgh!)

I would not want to be the CC or the OOD. I can't think of any reason this should have occurred,.
