Lord, this is great entertainment from the sidelines. Good thing I've got beer in the fridge. Gerald Weinand must be laughing his ass off.
Mr. Boyer - I get along with most of the Liberty people as they get along swimmingly with us TEApers, and I generally like them...
....with one notable exception, perhaps.
The next time I show up at a Committee meeting, I'll have to wear a shemagh. I've got a face that's perfect for newsprint and I wouldn't want to stress your little camera.
We'll have all the ladies fitted with nice burquas just for you. Your boorish behavior towards the ladies, at least such as I have observed, is more befitting a Moorish barbarian than a Christian gentleman.
Maybe we'll issue paper bags to the entire committee so you can do a nice group portrait of us, eh?
Good thing you're a Republican mate; try that schtick with Democrats and you might have to see a Proctologist to get your cannie wee camera back.
Yes, GW is already on twitter with this. My understanding is the popcorn truck is on the way.
That Boyer clown doesn't really look that tough, but he's knockin the chair right out from underneath ya's. lol But you're doing a great job of being bi-partisan. That always works. Does throw the bum out ring any bells? Grow some nads ffs!! In the meantime I think I'll head over to ML's place for beahs and by the time you all figure this out we should be able to make a generous contribution to the winner...lol
To summarize....the polarization of our party continues and until resolved, nothing good can happen....wake up people...we have met the enemy and he is us!
Beth O’Connor is a fine person. I know her and like her.
However, she has got to distance herself from the “Liberty PAC” people who are working 24/7, lobbying the State Committee Members and inventing “grassroots” support. Ms. O’Connor needs to assure Maine Republicans that these Ron Paul “Community Organizers,” who began their infestation of Maine about a year or so ago, will be nowhere near the State Party if she is chair.
WHY? The person angling to be the next Communications Director at 9 Higgins Street (David Boyer) admits that Maine was chosen as an easy takeover target.
But please - don’t take MY word on it! Here’s a link to an interview that was posted to YouTube in July by his fellow import Eric Brakey. Boyer is bragging about his group’s accomplishments as of July 19; and crows about their plans!
There are plenty of damning words here; but for the “Reader’s Digest” version, here’s a transcript, beginning at 7:57 on the recording:
DAVID BOYER: "Let me be clear, you know. I think the Republicans are just as bad as the Democrats, pretty much. I think we should try to take over both parties, run candidates in both parties. We’re using the Republican Party as a vehicle here in Maine because of all the leadership positions that we’ve taken. We have almost the majority of the State Committee to be Ron Paul people, so that means the GOP Chairman. We’re gonna have a big effect on who gets to be the GOP Chair when the election comes in December, so there’s a lot, a lot of room. And the RNC has to give money to the Republican Party, it doesn’t matter who’s in charge. So we have no problem taking RNC money and using it for Liberty issues. And I actually relish in that fact (laughs).”
The host winds down the conversation by commenting that it is easy to start with the Republican Party because so many people had to “Go Republican” to vote for Ron Paul…
SO BETH O’CONNOR… THIS PERSON IS FIGHTING FOR YOU TO BE STATE CHAIR – SURELY YOU KNOW HIS MOTIVES.
ARE THESE YOUR MOTIVES AS WELL???
Nice work, Rick Blaine, but I have to ask, from an outcomes perspective, what is the calamity if Liberty candidates get elected in Maine? In either or both parties? (Though I doubt the Ds will embrace Liberty candidates, they want statists.)
My criticism of the community organizers is that their strategy is wrong if they truly want to turn Maine into a Liberty state.
Taking over party leadership gets them nowhere. Alienating party activists is counter-productive.
Instead, they have to win the minds of the regular, non-political people just trying to live their lives in Maine, if they are serious about making Maine safe for liberty. Why in all practicality are policies with a bias toward liberty (GOP) better for them than policies that favor state power (Dem) as the solution to everything?
That's where their community organizing is needed.
Am I the only one who sees that?
You make a good point.
The Ron/Rand Paul kids who invaded Maine a year ago are really NOT here to organize anybody in any community... They were sent here with orders to take over the Maine Republican Party. Period.
Calling them "Invader/Hijackers" is probably more accurate... Based on the words of David Boyer, as posted on YouTube by Eric Brakey.
They are proud of themselves!
IS BETH O'CONNOR PROUD OF THEM TOO???
Rick Blaine, I will welcome everyone into the Republican party that wants to join. As far as extending a job to Eric Brakey or David Boyer, the answer is no, I will not do that. If elected I would hope to have an excellent selection of qualified individuals to fill positions and would personally interview them. I would not object to presenting the selection to the entire State Committee with my preferences and why and give them all the opportunity for a simple majority vote on the individual.
Reading this thread from beginning to end shows me and everyone else in cyber space that the Republican party is severely fractured. It also shows that there is hope for the future and many thoughtful individuals have ideas for a brighter future and I hope regardless of who is elected to the party chair that we can all come to the table to discuss all of the issues and ideas in a civil manner and get to work 2014 is around the corner. I'm ready, how about all of you?
No you are not the only one who sees it.
But you are the only one who has expressed it in a way that doesn't immediately put on different unfamiliar labels that some just do not associate w/ R's,even though they should.
This is why I have said speak not RP name or even Liberty party or anything else ,but republican , the rest are ideas worthy of inclusion and shouldn't be divisive or distarcting!
deleted double post1
There's a breath of fresh air. Congratulations, Beth.
Beth is a genuine article! I like her a lot.
Problem is... with the people working so hard to make sure she's "Their" Chair. What will they get? Mr Boyer made his intentions very clear - and he's organizing the "grassroots" support for Beth to be Maine Chair.
AND JUST IN CASE anybody thinks the Ron/Rand Paul people are going anywhere... What about this ad, posted on Monster.com yesterday???
About the Job

Must be Ron Paul enthusiast, pro-choice, pro-gay rights, must have a strong belief that all religions should be out of politics and anti-war in the Middle East. Please send resume to firstname.lastname@example.org
Does this sound like something from people insisting they want Republican Party UNITY???
"And the RNC has to give money to the Republican Party, it doesn’t matter who’s in charge." - uh...no they don't, I can guarantee you that. No establishment, no money. What I'd like to ask Boyer is why he deleted the thread on the Ron Paul forum, that had over 300+ responses in it, about the Maine GOP race. And why he is messaging people who post here telling them to delete their posts or they will be "cut ot of the loop". Is that liberty? Seems more like fascism to me.
I too like Beth O very much...however, you are blind and foolish if you think she will distance herself from the support of dolpac/brakey....she is and will continue to be a liberty candidate. She would make a great staffer for Rich Cebra...along with others I could name. However, you seem to talk out of both sides of your mouth when it comes to liberty candidates and supporters and Beth....it doesn't work.
The fact remains, we need the liberty support, the conservative support, and those that fall into the middle and are often maligned by any extreme within our party. Charlie Webster is the poster child for that, look where it's gotten him. The republican party in Maine needs to learn that agreement 70% of the time is enough to move forward with anyone's agenda. Instead, the republican elitists and yes, the liberty elitists draw lines in the sand and we get to watch the democrats once again kick our %$#....I for one am ready to stand with the 75%....and get going on another battle which we shouldn't have lost a few weeks ago....for 2014.
Well said jcmcards.
Yes the Republicans and Democrats seem to be just as bad when it comes to the.... CONSTITUTION
I am for the Constitution, every time. What is so crazy about that?
It is flattering that you and Rick have done so much research on Eric and I.
Are you ready to quit the hyperbole and work together?
Mr. Boyer you seem to have a habit of not answering questions posed!
While I am not always in agreement w/ Blaine or Apollo they both have asked what appears to be reasonable questions
that if answered just might set aside some skepticism.
Far too many posting here seem to want to stir up the nastiness ad infinitum.
How can we resist with Blaine SHOUTING ALL THE TIME. what a lunatic
I guess I need to ask Rick Blaine and Apollo just exactly what is it that creates such fear in you? I have absolute confidence in either Beth or Rich being able to guide the party and take full advantage of the strengths of all who wish to participate, while mitigating any negatives people may bring. Let me repeat what I've said in earlier threads: It's absolutely stupid to drive young, enthusiastic people who are willing to work out of the party. Stupid. I observed some rude behavior among some of them, but certainly, good manners can be taught by example.
There was a dustup at the convention and some feelings were hurt. Grownups should be able to get over it. I'll bet that after the Chair position is won, whoever lost will enthusiastically support the winner and work for the success of the party, just like a grownup. The party needs the energy of everyone we can bring in, and people in leadership able to recognize their abilities and plug them in where they're needed.
In one of her zany movies, Mae West remarked in her naughty way, "If you don't have something good to say about someone, come and sit by me and tell me!"
I suggest this thread be renamed MAE WEST'S REQUEST
In fact, at the Maine Liberty Summit in Bangor on December 15th
Beth or Rich will be welcome to speak at the event and hopefully let liberty supporters know that they are welcome into the party.
By the way my organization donated and helped Republicans, exclusively.
Thousands of man-hours went into this election cycle from liberty supporters across the state.
DOLPAC donated thousands directly to many Republicans and coordinated outside groups spending as much as $30,000 on Republican candidates.
I made phone calls for Summers, did you?
I made phone calls for Courtney, did you?
I made phone calls for Sirocki, Libby, Jones, Tuttle, Casey, Akers, Wallace, Sarbanis.
I litdropped for Sirocki, Libby, Jones, Sanderson, Tuttle, Casey, Akers, Wallace Sarbanis, Maloney.
If you want to cast out the organizers and supporters that made the 2012 Maine GOP Convention the biggest ever, do it at your own peril.
AND NO I DON'T WANT A JOB AT THE GOP
Quit acting like children and let us restore the Republic.
Cute, Mr. Boyer!
You posted: "Are you ready to quit the hyperbole and work together?"
Did you learn that reading Saul Alinsky, or is that what your bosses in Texas and Kentucky told you to post here?
= = = = =
There are breath-taking quotes from you, posted earlier today on this thread... about your motives here in Maine. And you dodge any answer or responsibility by trying to wrap yourself in the CONSTITUTION???
= = = = =
You bet. I'm eager to Work Together with Maine Republicans.
Problem is - YOU are neither!
You "RELISH" the idea of taking money from the RNC and using it for YOUR "LIberty" issues and candidates?
You brag that "RON PAUL PEOPLE" have nearly "TAKEN" control of the State Committee so you can put in YOUR State Chair?
And last time I noticed, you still had a Maryland license plate on your car. Where are they sending you next - after you've wrecked things here in Maine?
You're obviously a little slow on the uptake, so let me spell it out for you:
Work with Maine Republicans - YES!
Work with you and your poisonous little band of transplanted "Community Organizers" - NO!
Boyer... listing your work, donations and support for YOUR "LIberty" candidates only proves the point of your divisive mission here in Maine!
You and your people enjoyed using the Call Center Resources, funded mainly by the RNC... but you refused to make any calls for Mitt Romney!
WHO needs to get over their losses and learn to work together???
I did make a few calls for Mitt, actually.
And since when were Summers and Courtney "Liberty Candidates" and the Cumberland County Call Center was actually funded by.....wait for....Cumberland County GOP.
Quit acting like a child.
I would agree with Rick, but my biggest concern is their stated goal to purge the Republican party of anyone that is not a liberty/ron paul follower. Besides that, Charlie Webster received harrassment and death threats, Jan Staples received harrassment and death threats, and I've witnessed them following people, taking people's pictures, harrassing and intimitdating people, yelling at people and telling them how to vote. There were ron paul people at the state convention that voted multiple times in different counties (this was witnessed), ron paul people that were alternate delegates that were seen voting and when told to stop, said "make us stop". These people are not Republicans. They've admitted that in numerous videos. They are only using the Republican party in Maine because they can.
Cute, Mr. Boyer. Cute!
Straight out of Alinsky! You dodge any real questions with bits of semi-half-truths; then insist that your opponents need to SHUT UP!
I'm waiting for you to call us racists. Isn't that on the next page?
As for the Call Center, the Cumberland County GOP pays a nominal fee for the use of the room, etc. In no way, shape, or form could that tiny group afford to REALLY fund a call center. You're either ignoring that fact - or you just don't know it.
And why, Mr We've-Been-Sent-To-Take-Over-The-Maine-Republican-Party, do you differentiate between normal Republicans and your hand-picked "Liberty" candidates?
Is it the same reason you, Mr. Let's-Unify-The-Maine-Republican-Party are holding a separate "Liberty Summit" in Bangor??
That's right Rick, and people not on their approval list are not welcome at the liberty summit. Sort of like at the state convention, when they had seating that they "claimed" for liberty seating, and when other people sat there, they were first yelled at then forcibly removed from the seats.
The thing that gets me though is that in all of their emails, they always have to mention ron paul. ron paul endorses O'Connor. ron paul did this, said this, endorsed this person, etc. I don't personally give a damn about what some retired congressman from Texas that knows nothing about Maine thinks about our people or candidates. These local liberty people always want to mention his name at every opportunity, but it means nothing to me and about 98% of all of the rest of Maine either.
Who cares if they are liberty, tea party, evangelists or moderates, we are the big tent party.
Is it really that unreasonable for someone to help candidates that they philosophically agree with? You can help the Republicans you align with and I can help the Republicans I align with. I think that is a step toward unity. Don't we all wanted limited government? Aren't we all for the Constitution? Now let's all make an effort to not bash others, remember Reagan's 11th?
All are welcome to the Summit.
