Bush should apologize for the 10,000 dead Iraqi civilians. And then hand over the keys to the country to Iraqis.

Yep, that's what Saddam Hussein considers him... a very bad joke.

To the dead, or to the alive Iraqis?

The real question is, when will Senator Kerry apologize for all the "atrocities" about which he did nothing to stop while he was present in Vietnam? And flapping his gums in the aftermath doesn't count, by the way...

Uhhhh, actually, Kerry said he, himself had committed atrocities... but then again, I've heard the naked Iraqi prisoner episode described as an atrocity, so obviously the word has no meaning.

Caught the end of something on WBZ on the ride home about Bush apologizing to the King of Jordan for the torture of the Iraqi prisoners. The King of Jordon? Why not you and I? Why not the people of this great nation? Why not the entire world? Then of course there's the prisoners who were abused and tortured!A final nail in his coffin I'd say.charlie

I apologize...I didn't get the point.Oh...WAIT! I see! It's BUSH'S FAULT!Slathering, wild-eyed, madman: BOOOOOSH! IT'S BOOOOOSH!Why do you hate him so? Because he cuts through the relativism; the spineless wavering and inhuman self obsessed barbarism of the UN, who were & continue to be content to allow thousands to die in torture while lining their own pockets with filthy, oil stained funds intended to help the poor of Iraq.No Blood for Oil? I agree! Kick the UN Oil mongers off US soil! They are barbaric savages who trample children in Third World countries under their feet, so they can eat in the finest restaurants in NYC while pointing at their host country and hurling hypocritical lies to throw their salivating, brainless, idiotic followers off the real scent.

Usama Bin Laden responded to the President's apology today...he called for a bounty on the heads of Paul Bremer and Kofi Annan. When are the Charlies of the world going to understand that UBL and crew want, very badly, to kill all the Charlies they can find?As Howie Carr says: "No more Mr. Nice Guy."

No Apology.... Please! I am so glad a Conservative is in office because if Gore won he would not have only apologised for something he had no control of but would have probably surrended to the terrorists. Does that sound stupid charlie? Well it should sound just as dumb as your call for Bush to apologise for something done TO us, not BY us.Let me ask you, if you were sleeping while a bad guy silently broke into your house, and your family was silently killed, would you apologise for the acts of the bad guy? Should you be chastised for "sleeping on the job" like Bush has been for going about normal business that horrible day (reading to the children) while having no knowledge of what was happening?I am sure your answers will be quite enlightening. I will have my tinfoil hat at the ready.

When did Roosevelt and Truman apologize?Gawd the left is so selective in who they assassinate to the detriment of our nation while at war.

Hey Bob Stone, there's a nice guy side to me and then there's a not so nice guy side to me. Stay on the right one!And you big shooter, if it were on my watch as Commander in Chief that 3,000 people were killed, yes, I'd probably apologige for having failed them. I take such responsibility seriously. What should Roosevelt and Truman apologize for, defending this nation from a 'real' threat?charlie

I find all of this unbelievable. It doesn't matter who apologized or didn't apologize in the past.WHat matters is now and the future. The President of the United States of America should not apologize to the families of the 9/11 victims or the abused prisoners in Iraq.He is not responsible for either act.His job is to hold accountable those whose actions caused these two events. The rest of the bulls--t listed here is just politics.Get over it, all of you.[ 05-06-2004: Message edited by: Ray Richardson ]

Ray -Concur. Time to move on to things that matter. This entire issue boils down to the left-leaning Press's attempt to maximize negative coverage (for political gain) from an unfortunate and wrong situation that embarassed a group of Iraqi prisoners.
I personally believe that someone much higher than a Staff Sergeant's head should roll for "dereliction of duty" in the supervision of the clowns at this prison (I'm thinking find the first General in the chain of command and fire & punish him/her and all leadership subordinates all the way down to the offending troops...would send a strong message about personal accountability and military duty obligations). But, then again, what do I know? According to mainelydave, I'm just an ignorant Republican. Would love to know MD's source of enlightenment, since I evidently don't match up to his worldly knowledge and experience....hope I can sleep tonight as I try to contemplate it.- Dave
