"No, Christians should not vote for Ron Paul" is an interesting article by Steve C. Halbrook on why Christians should not vote for Ron Paul. This is actually the 3rd in a series of articles, and a response to and article entitled "Yes, Christians should vote for Ron Paul" and a follow up to "Should Christians vote for Ron Paul?". For the record I'm not a Theonomist. However, the article does bring up some valid points and is well written and sourced.

In particular, these words at the start of the article:

"Before we begin, we must make clear what this critique is not about. It is not about personal animosity...[snip] Furthermore, in regards to Ron Paul, we are not attempting to malign his character; in fact, we believe he has several admirable character traits [snip]
...The reason we are criticizing him, even strongly, is that we do not believe he is biblically qualified to be a civil ruler [snip]"

I am posting the article here as opposed to the main forum, in an effort to avoid the vitriol that posts of this kind so often divolve into on the main page. I look forward to reading peoples thoughts - MAB

thanks for posting this Mike. I read it a while back but refrained from posting as it wasn't speaking to my main concern regarding Dr. Paul.

I know that people will be gathering buckets of rocks, but my biggest concern regards Paul being a Mason.

I know that the best people in every town join this and it is an admirable social organization that does much local good work, but it is very questionable about the mission of the 32nd degree and above (?) people. If Albert Pike was a spokesperson for this group, RUN!

For the record, I''m not a Theonomist.

However, I can't really argue with many of the points the Theonomist raises in this clip - except maybe the Bible version quoted (ESV vs. KJV) ...

(interesting to note the button on his lapel which I think is there to prove a separate point that there is little difference in the major party's from a Theonomist's standpoint)
