Non-Essential or Unnecessary?

Senator Collins in her usual contemplative cerebral vapor lock has apparently decided Trump should give the dimms the only thing they want, open the government, and simply make the Pelosi-Schumer group more comfortable in telling the country to go to hell. Perhaps the gruesome twosome are getting tired of lending their "non-essential" buddies or relatives money, preferring that they leach off us rather than them. It is obviously a good thing the senator did not lend her tactics to those who ran the second world war-this would be being written in German. The Parks Service again as before comes center stage as usual. Apparently there is a danger that the elk will not get their food stamps? There is trash in a park? Our lives have exponentially deteriorated over the past several days? The concept of unnecessary "non-essentials" in government seems to go well outside the parameters of what they are calling non-essentials. Sort of amazing how non-essential a good deal of the senate & congress have sounded of late.

When they talk about the

When they talk about the government shutdown, they’re going to be talking about the president of the United States, who the president was at that time.

They’re not going to be talking about who was the head of the House, the head the Senate, who’s running things in Washington. So I really think the pressure is on the president.

The longer this 25% of

The longer this 25% of government is shut down, the more people realize how little it actually matters, and will start to wonder how much more could be eliminated.
Democrats will lose bigly on this one.

I think the relevant question

I think the relevant question is if we hadn't read the paper or watched the news, or the bimbos in the body/corpse politic, would you have even noticed? When we have people such as the current cerebral vacuum du jour Cortez, hyping and inflicting their latest "dramatic reading", read BS, how could you expect anything of substance. She in fact is my nominee to be the most likely in the lame congress to have failed both 8th grade civics & kindergarten logic. The left has finally found a congressional distaff version of Hank "Guam is capsizing" Johnson. The dimms insist WE raise the level of discourse with freshman morons who use the language such their latest bimbo du jour did at the MoveOn.org gathering. Perhaps there is a message there in that she should "move on" to open mike night at a sleazy comedy club where no sense of humor is required.

"her usual contemplative

"her usual contemplative cerebral vapor lock"

This is lovely phrasing. Thank you, Cheech, for a good laugh.

As an aside, she can't decide yet if she plans to run again or not. Yeah, right.

My snide little psyche keeps telling me that the only thing that will keep either Collins or Ginsburg out of the fray is a starring role in A Week-End at Bernie's Redux. Sounds like Ginsburg is being auditioned right now.
