News sources like to display the POTUS as a GOD throughout the world but in reality he is greatly disrespected as you will clearly witness. I wonder why the Russians would not shake his hand?

I guess they didn't like the look in his eyes.

Because they've always been at the forefront of spreading Socalism, and now this guy comes along and bumps them out of their slot!

I'll say this about Obama, he thinks quick on his feet, after the second snub, it's like here is another guy that will shake hands with you and not me.

Was this really a snub? It looks like he was introducing people -- "Here's so-and-so...and here's so-and-so" etc.

I don't see how you can read that as anything BUT a snub. But then, I've been Kool Aid-Free for 58 years...

Yeah. That's what it looks like. If Mr. Obama is a ventriloquist! I am not seeing his lips move*...

*Well, at least he's not lying...

Now that I've looked at the clip a few more times in the context that he was "meeting" Russian offficials, it is clear that they refused to shake his hand. That's disgraceful. As much as most of the people here find Obama not to their liking, is there anyone who would refuse to shake his hand?

Yea, I would not shake his hand either and the reasons are to numerous to mention at the moment.

I would not shake his hand. I've refused to shake hands with politicians in the past and I've told them I wouldn't so there was no doubt.

I don't know at what point during his state visit this video was taken, but if it was toward the end, it would make sense. According to a friend of mine from Russia, Obama snubbed the Russian diplomats while he was there. The Russians had several events planne for him well into the evening. There was one particularly high event. President Obama, according to my friend, turned them down to have dinner at the hotel with his family. Apparently in Russia this is considered a high insult since during state visits you are expected to fulfill all events. Again, this is just single-source but pretty good authority. If you can find anything that discounts this, please let me know.

I wouldn't shake his hand, either. What's more, since he became "President" I've pledged myself not to use that term in conjuction with his name. So far so good.

I'm not sure AVERAGE JOE doesn't have a point. True, his lips did not appear to be moving but his gestures are compatible with the AJ's interpretation.

I can't approve of foreigners declining the shake the hands of an American president. It's a discourtesy to the country and contrary to normal protocol. Declining his hand is a choice that should be reserved to American citizens. A political handshake, after all, is an obviously insincere form of political theater and an American citizen should feel compelled to play along.
