LL, there were 2,000 ficken protesters there according to reports, so that is not a small amount. And in the same place last year there was an anti war protest that erupted in violence. The local authorities are only making judgements of these type of people based on past experience, and if the police hadn't been there you know there would have been trouble.I don't mind if the people protest - I really don't. They have a perfect right to. But what gets me angry about them is that many of the protests turn violent, with assaults on police, on members of the military, on passers by, vandalism, etc. just like we experienced here in Portland. And always under the guise of "marching for peace".Did you ever wonder why the riot police always show up at the "peace" rallys but the so called "pro war" flag or yellow ribbon rallies never have any problems?
