6PM Stevens Avenue Armory Portland boxing club vs Montreal.
SOURCE"Saturday night at the Stevens Avenue Armory. A team of Portland Boxing Club amateurs is matched against a team from Montreal....."
"He's about to turn pro and wanted a last, amateur fight in front of his adopted hometown and the adopted family that is his Portland Boxing Club team"
Should be a fun night, and the new venue that Bobby Russo has moved the boxing too makes it so he can seat more than at his current boxing club..

He does not want them to build him one, he wants to get a variance so he can build a taller one that is allowed on the old Lumber Yard/Rail yard.
This will be a big event, if this goes well perhaps they will host one at the EXPO next and bring back some tradition to Portland.

EJ is not quite correct. The contract zone for Packard's Morril's Crossing development called for a 14,000 one story building. Just before the planning board finalized the site plan, the developer came back with a 3 story building. The PB was taken to court of that and this along with some other matters has held the project up.
They are not looking for a varinace. I have not read the case, but form what I know it needs to conform to the one story limitation of the contract zone.
PB afternoon agenda item.
Packard Development Remand by Superior Court for findings of facts related to the limitation on the size of the boxing club building.

I can predict that it will get the allowance to build the larger facility just a feeling I get.
EJ
You clearly do not understand the court system. They have already said they cannot build it.
