Democrats are planning on enlisting "several" wayward Republicans to help turn out the vote for President Obama at next month's Democratic National Convention, but who will it be? The news comes in the form of an event planning document obtained by Politico's Mike Allen saying Democrats want a "centrist Republican leader" or "notable G.O.P. woman" to play a part at the Charlotte convention on at least two of the nights.

Gee...guess who is mentioned prominently in the article. I'll give you three guesses...and the first two don't count.

Reaganite -

How dangerous it always is to reason with insufficient data. This could be a desperate political party engaging in smoke blowing.

From: Republicans Speaking at Democratic Convention James Joyner · Friday, August 10, 2012 ·

"On Wednesday night, a “notable GOP woman” is among the possible participants. And on the final night, Democrats may include a Republican leader — someone like former Sens. John Warner or Chuck Hagel — or a GOP woman."

Don't you love surprises?

"Who knew?"

I took my cue from the headline " . . Former GOP Candidate . . " The 'former' door swings wide.

What's the difference between this and when then former Senator Zell Miller(D-GA) spoke at a GOP National Convention. Sounds like whoever this mystery speaker is going to be got a "offer she/he couldn't refuse".
