While I'm not enraptured by the stereotyping...

That was freakin' hilarious!

Top Gear absolutely rocks! That show is full-on funny for the entire length of the episode. They get the benefits of going diesel...why don't Americans?! :?

I love diesels, it's a much better solution than the hybrid mania. Maine doesn't like diesels, we couldn't buy any passenger car diesels, at least not until this year.

Didn't I say that about...a long time ago?

Mike, the TDI does not make the same lifestyle choice statement as the revolting Prius.

I'd not heard of it before this thread. I can tell what's going to be sucking my time for a while...

This one's pretty funny, too!

They say......It does 0-60 in 10.9 seconds
They say......It does 106 mph.

Both of these things will get you arrested. So why are Americans always marketing and making such a big deal about top speed and acceleration when no one can do either without going to jail?

LOL

Acceleration won't necessarily get you arrested, speeding is obvious.

Just because it'll go faster than 65mph doesn't mean you have to do it. You're equipped to be a male prostitute, does that mean you'll do it?

It would seem the Top Gear folks could reach neither benchmark. Hardly surprising.

Ah spoken like a true health & safety authoritarian. Have you ever heard of track days or local drag strips? Or should they be banned too because people should be allowed to have fun in their cars?

Accelerating quickly to 60 will not get you arrested or even fined. If that were true then anyone merging onto a highway from a standing start would be arrested.

I had to resurrect this thread because I was just wasting yet more irretrievable minutes of my life, courtesy of You Tube, and found this AMAZING video from Top Gear. They are test driving a Peugot. The test is whether James can DRIVE this car from point A to B before these kids can do it on foot. The athleticism of these kids is just jaw dropping and thought someone might enjoy this little video, which is about 7 minutes long.

Peugot versus "Free runners"

Wow - do you think skateboards would just slow these kids down?
