TRUTH TEST: Raye's cost-cutting claim actually sells efforts short

"[I]n the Senate president's office...I reduced spending on the staff budget by 20 percent right off the top." -- Maine Senate President Kevin Raye, R-Perry, in a 2nd U.S. Congressional District campaign video.
Raye...is selling himself a tad short on this claim.
Raye's annual staff budget as of Jan. 11, 2011 was $293,904. That's a savings of more than 22 percent.
