So some little snots do what they do best as skip classes and march, who cares where, and piss and moan in front of the presstitutes and we are going to allow this totalitarian regime that we already have, in DC, that has documented everything we do since 2001 and before, to disarm us in increments to eventually seize whatever remains of god given rights
One cut at a time? I don't think so.
Certainly has worked for tyrants throughout history
Is there a way to find common ground on firearms?
Carter I'd suggest you try the former idea of a shotgun, blowing pot smoke out of a 870 barrel.
Mel, learn how to post an image. Mikie, learn how to write. And you wonder why AMG is not more popular these days? Who would want to seriously engage with you low-brows?
You know who'd be GREAT for commentary on this thread? Attic Owl. Another great poster from the AMG that was.
My newest gripe about discussion around the Second Amendment is the publishing of LTTE from people who state the founding fathers intended for our guns to be regulated. They've had a couple recently, one just today. People are absolutely serious in saying "a well regulated militia" means the government has the right to regulate. Duhhh
I agree , but the problem is many of those posters have taken similiar tacts in discussions.
As I said above ,both sides will have to give a little in discussions when addessing the various issues.
Fear mongering does not work on many individuals.
The Second amendment, like all the others is a Constitutional act made part of it through the amendment process that requires 3/4ths of the States to concur, after having either been proposed by the Congress or convention of the States. In order to remove it a similar process must occur. It is why we are in the shape we are in when Supreme Court Justices don't even know the law. Of course, it would be just like the amendment to ban the manufacture and sale of alcohol. The Congress didn't have the authority to pass the Volstead Act and amending the Constitution to incorporate a law to ban it was in itself unconstitutional because the Constitution prohibits ex post facto laws and bills of attainder. The same would be true of a ban on firearms. The truth is the government can do anything they damn well please, the Constitution is no longer a restraint.
Yes, but both sides will have to concede some ground in arguments / positions .
How about starting here:
1) Rigorously enforce the laws already on the books.
2) Do your friggin' law enforcement job the way you are supposed to.
3) Stop prioritizing feel good, do something/do anything new laws to give yourself massive PR opportunities first and foremost!

That's funny Jasper, YOU calling anyone a lowbrow. Your insights are so Deeeep.
Jasper asks - "Who would want to seriously engage with you low-brows?"
Which begs the question - why do you spend so much time here?
It's those rare occasions when he does his morning chin-ups on the curb, and craves something above his normal scenery.
Very well written article which expalins the realtionship between amendnent and natural rights.
