FNC is guessing it is her. She has quite the stellar background.

Quote:
Sarah Palin, a politician of eye-popping integrity, was elected governor. She is now the most popular governor in America, with an approval rating in the 90s, and probably the most popular public official in any state.

Her rise is a great (and rare) story of how adherence to principle--especially to transparency and accountability in government--can produce political success. And by the way, Palin is a conservative who only last month vetoed 13 percent of the state's proposed budget for capital projects.

The Most Popular Governor

At this point, I sure as hell hope it's her.

Good choice considering she supports drilling!

I have a feeling it is going to be Lieberman. So get ready for that.

So, now we wait to see if the McCain campaign commits suicide (Lieberman) or has a serious shot at winning...

You need to remember, Lieberman has the same "maverick" label as McCain, and has a huge appeal to Democrats and Independents. So yes, it would tick off a lot of conservatives, but it might be a net positive. Besides, who are the conservatives going to vote for in the end? McCain, who is pro life and strong on national security? Or Bob Barr? Give me a break.

Sarah Palin is a hottie though.

Krauthammer suggests because McCain is tied that he should make a bland pick, like Fred Thompson.

From Fox News:

"Adding fuel to the Palin possibility was a report that a charter aircraft from Anchorage had arrived in Dayton, Ohio, where McCain has scheduled a noon ET rally to announce his choice."

She is demonstrably pro-life.

If McCain picks Lieberman, and dies in office, how will conservatives feel about a Lieberman Presidency?

I like Lieberman because I think he is honest, has the courage to buck his own party, and is conservative on the most important issue of all, national security. I would be fine with him.

Krauthammer is a good guy but he often doesn't know what he is talking about. If McCain "plays it safe" he will definitely lose.

What about the recent controversy concerning Ms. Palin? The one involving possible pressure on a government official to aid a family member; etc.

Has that "gone away"?

""She's as Alaskan as you can get," says Dan Fagan, an Anchorage radio talk show host. "She's a hockey mom, she lives on a lake, she ice fishes, she snowmobiles, she hunts, she's an NRA member, she has a float plane, and her husband works for BP on the North Slope," Fagan says. Todd Palin, her high school sweetheart, is a three-time winner of the 2,000-mile Iron Dog snowmobile race from Wasilla to Nome to Fairbanks. It's the world's longest snowmobile race."

She cleaned house which offended the Republican insiders. She's squeaky clean.

It's disappointing that Romney is out.

I like Joe L. but hope it's not him... he's the kiss of death for J.M.s run (for many reasons). The AK gov sounds pretty good, but we haven't had time for anyone to dig up any dirt yet.

Picking L. could do one thing for J.M., kind of like the Biden pick, it would be an insurance policy because no one would want to see the VP move up!

Alaska Senate leaders want an investigation of whether Gov. Sarah Palin pressured and then fired the public safety commissioner because he wouldn't get rid of a state trooper who had gone through a bitter divorce with Palin's sister.

Everyone keeps saying that Lieberman would be the "kiss of death" for McCain's campaign. Why? What is that based on?

First, he's not a Republican.

Second, McCain is not strong with conservatives. They are just starting to warm up to him. Picking Al Gore's running mate as his running mate will not unite conservatives behind him.

Naran, the Alaska Senate leaders are all ticked off at Palin because she cut all their pork projects out of the budget. Politically motivated soap opera nonsense.

Palin confirmed by McCain campaign official.

Let's hope Mitt gets a really good job in the administration.

Lieberman is a Democrat who ran as an independent as Angus KIng did. Look what happened then.

She'd better be - Alaskan politics are notoriously corrupt.

It's Official, Palin Chosen as Running Mate

Obama can kiss Hillary's "18 million votes" goodbye. Hell hath no fury like a liberal woman scorned.
