In light of current State Rep. & State Senate candidate Cynthia Dill's recent disrespect of the memorial in South Portland documented here shouldn't we go back and take a look at another of her more controversial statements?

Has Rep. Dill made any further statement regarding her blog post suggesting female lawmakers use a .38 special to efficiently deal with what she called "angry fanatics", or has the media just passed this one by?
Here is a saved version of that post.

A couple of quotes from the article:

"Today angry, whale-sized, and stupid seem to be the measures of
American authenticity, as if God pressed “reverse” on the natural
selection dial for kicks."

"Every single one of us needs to venture out to Walmart and exchange
that rice steamer we got for Christmas for something practical like a
.38 special. Angry fanatics are becoming increasingly more popular and
can be a real time-suck. If we must put up with these guys, let’s be
efficient."

Yes, I remember when these were first posted on AMG.

Dill has an unfortunate tendency to seek the limelight, coupled with a limited ability to see the "big picture." She acts in the moment, and then wonders why people take exception to her abrasiveness and vitriol.

I suspect that once she's out of public office, she has a dandy future with someone like Jerry Springer.

Walmart doesn't sell hand guns.

I wonder how many Democrats in SoPo and the Cape who have been mocking The Donald as a wingnut will vote for Dill. Probably most of them. Weird indeed.

Bullseye: I don't think she meant a CD of the band. But maybe she hopes the voters of South Portland will be "Caught up in You" and elect her.

Good Lord, I just read this quote carefully for the first time. This is clearly a very angry, and frustrated individual (postal?). . .who most certainly bears watching.

Prosecutor: "Why did you shoot him?"

Dill: "He was becoming a real time suck."

Prosecutor: " State rests."

I see that Tony Maietta has raised his clean election money and has spent $14,939.50 of that. Do we have any word on our candidate other than that?

Would some one explain "real time suck'. What exactly does that mean? Does it mean that angry fanatics are sucking up her time and the way to deal with them is using a .38 special? Or is it some kind of off kilter remake of the phrase "sucks big time?" It's clumsy at best ....At any rate it appears that rep dill is another marvel to behold.

Roger - there's an existing thread on Maietta, listing his website and facebook page links. Please find and post information to that thread if you're interested.
Thanks.

Naran knows of a link mentioning the Tony Maietta campaign. Care to post a link? Google "Tony Maietta Campaign" on the AMG search and the only link that pops up is from the 2004 campaign.

I figured that term was some form of "valley-girl-speak". The Urban Dictionary is a far cry from Websters'.

Roger, your difficulty in finding information is probably because it is Louie Maietta, not Tony Maietta. Try "Louie Maietta" and you should have better results.

Spoke to Charlie Webster last night. He's down in the 7th district knocking on 200 doors a day.

I gather Cynthia's we/us means inhabitants of gated communities in Cape Elizabeth and the enemies are those living outside the gates.

Dill has failed to receive funding or support from the D Senate promotional machine.

Mean Girl

Sen. Patty Murray abandons female Senate candidate in search for Maine independent’s support

BY: Patrick Howley - March 29, 2012 5:00 am

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), headed by Sen. Patty Murray (D., Wash.), is promoting its party’s female Senate challengers as a focal point in its 2012 efforts, but at least one prominent Democratic woman is being left out: Maine state senator Cynthia Dill has not received any funding or statements of support from the DSCC.

...snip
Despite the lack of DSCC support, Dill maintained that she is not “down and out.”

Well, of course not. After all, she still has Roxanne Quimby.

Prominent ? If it wasn't for making a fool of herself no one in Maine would know who/what she is let alone the country.
