Shooting of Black FL Teen Ignites National "Furor", Major Figures Weigh In on Incident!

Neither the facts, nor the truth, matter to Democrats. They have created the narrative that this was a "white on black" murder and nothing else matters. They will ignore everything else until they have squeezed as much out of this as they can. Then they will move on to some other distraction.
It might be interesting to AMGrs to know how this situation would have been handled under Sharia Law. Before making my comments I would like to state that I spent over 25 years of my life living in the Middle East, the last 15 years of which were in Saudi Arabia.
When there is an action between two individuals that results in damage, say a car accident, the authorities approach it from the standpoint of if either of the two parties involved were not there there would never have been an incident therefore both parties are responsible until determined otherwise. If the two parties can agree to the distribution of guilt, the authorities automatically concur and both parties are free to execute their agreement, if not the case comes before a judge who make a determination based on the facts presented. The decision can be appealed, but if it is upheld, the appealing party may face double the settlement, the excess considered as a fine and payable to the state. In criminal cases the accused, if found guilty, may appeal and if lost may be given double the penalty.
If there is a physical injury or death to one of the participants the authorities take a more proactive approach attempting to get the parties to each acknowledge the extent of blame and compensation before moving the case to a court. In the event of death, the family of the deceased now comes into the picture to act in his stead. The heir or parents as the case may be can either accept monetary compensation or an eye for an eye which jfinal judgement will be upheld by a judge. In my expericence an eye for an eye is rarely the result except in cases of criminal intent.
In this particular case, if it occurred in Saudi Arabia, that anyone other than the individual who shot the boy and the family of the boy would have gotten involved. It would certainly have gotten notice in the press because hardly any of the Saudis, outside the government are armed. Armed robbery is almost unheard of. In any event, if there is a dispute a judge would make the final determination, whether agreed to before hand by the parties involved or not.
Mr Zimmerman was (legally) carrying the gun so he is ultimately responsible for using it in that situation. What is in question, legally, is whether or not he was justified, under the laws of the State of Florida, in using deadly force in that specific situation.
Which particular racial or ethnic group the two participants in the incident belong to is immaterial to whether the law was followed or not. So far it seems, based on what we have seen that up to this point in time, the Sanford police have not been able to produce evidence of a crime, enough to lead to an arrest and subsequent indictment. I think it will be investigated further, by state authorities, as is done in Maine and let the chips fall where they may.
Trying to turn this into a race war demonstrates how desperate the progressive thinkers, black racial activists and their media pals have gotten to promote this "news".
Somewhere I just read that around 25 or so young people, were murdered on the streets of Chicago over ST Patricks holiday weekend. Where is the outrage over that? If the killers had been white would it have been more newsworthy?

The parents of Trayvon Martin are going to Capitol Hill for a forum organized by Congress on racial profiling and hate crimes.
The event is not a full committee hearing and no decisions will be made.
Trayvon Martin's parents go to Capitol Hill
Hmmm... Another Democrat phoney show-hearing, I'd guess.
This is like the Duke LaCrosse incident. Even as the evidence was coming out that showed the boys to be innocent, the left kept up their discussion of rage.
In another story, Trayvon's mother is trying to trademark his name.
....."The mother of Trayvon Martin has filed two applications to secure trademarks containing her late son’s name, records show........Sybrina Fulton is seeking marks for the phrases “I Am Trayvon” and “Justice for Trayvon,” according to filings made last week with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. In both instances, Fulton, 46, is seeking the trademarks for use on “Digital materials, namely, CDs and DVDs featuring Trayvon Martin,” and other products"......
Nothing like trying to make a few bucks on the side!
From where I sit that is pretty "unseemly" to say the least, even by modern American standards, where anything goes!
WC
Actually, on another site I read a decent commentary on this: she may be trying to prevent OTHER people from trying to make a few bucks on the side. It's not unreasonable.
Pretty much everything else in this sideshow IS unreasonable, however.
Remember, whatever the facts may or may not be, it's the seriousness of the charges that demand this level of theatrics in the public eye.
If my son had been killed in a street shooting, somehow "trademarking his name" would likely NOT be something that his mother or I would be thinking of. I guess that must be part of the "Rap Music" culture that I neither like nor understand. My mom and dad did not have much use for Elvis Presley, but Elvis did not sing about "b****es and "h*s either.

Wow, this circus has been unbelievable to watch. Once Sharpton, Jackson, Farrakhan, the Black Panthers and so on got involved my doubts increased 100 fold. How many times have we seen this? Tawana Brawley, OJ Simpson, Duke Lacrosse? Bonfire of the Vanities gets repeated over and over it seems. Obama behaved stupidly to interject himself in this case in such a personal manner - "Trayvon would look like my son and all that." The real question is this - will there be a major riot situation when Zimmerman is either not indited or found not guilty if he is indited. Some of the hip hop crowd is preparing for it apparently: http://www.local10.com/news/Police-Trayvon-protesters-ransack-store/-/17...
Commentary from Yahoo Website:
Photos Fire Up Media Mob!
......"Zimmerman may end up being the racist, overzealous watchman that some say he is and be charged and found guilty of everything. Martin may have been the most amazing teenager ever. However, I, you, and certainly the media, do not know this as a fact. But we all do know one thing; this whole circus surrounding an otherwise local affair is out of control and has taken on a mob-like environment".......
Mr Wang points out, in his commentary, that the "court of public opinion" is often quick to pass judgement.......yet very easy to manipulate by those so inclined, as in the photos that have accompanied this story from the beginning.
I don't know which bothers me more, the ignorance that allows people to believe that which they are spoon-fed by a conspiring media...... or the rapidly widening racial divide which is festering in our country. Many are obsessed by "race" issues, even the last census forms were devoted to this issue. If we are ALL AMERICANS why is this racial thing so important to so many? Why is it that millions are virtually taking to the streets in a mob designed to seek out and punish Mr Zimmerman for the supposed crime, despite the fact that no criminal charges have been brought by the system of justice? Why is it OK with these people that dozens of young black males slaughter each other, violently, on the streets of Chicago and little is said? Why is the killing of a young black male only sufficient to rose furor when the supposed crime is committed by a "white person"?
Neither lends much promise for our future as a country.

"..all four blocs will be relentlessly political, locked in a struggle to determine how the increasingly scarce economic goods and natural resources are to be distributed to each group. Can a nation so wracked by internal struggle long endure? History suggests not. "
It's already happened to a Walgreens.
"Hey, look at all this free stuff!"
A familiar ritual, with a worn-out liturgy conducted by the usual race-baiting priesthood. By the time it has run its course several hundred black youths will have been murdered by several hundred other black youths without much notice. And if a dozen whites are murdered by black youths don't look for whites to rally in outrage.
"Get George! No blood, no peace!"
wolves are federally protected species. Sheep are verbotten from defending themselves.
Let's face it it was a stupid procedural mistake not to take him into custody and charge him!
Ascertain the facts and decide about prosecution and move forward driving the train vs. the riff raff turd stirrers like Jackson and Sharpton!
Was he an angel probably not,was Zimm. an idiot probably, is the staute questionable maybe( I know it should be w/out question ) do any of the background things pictures etc. etc. really mean much or add much not really.
Even though we are not immune from the fears and other emotions associated with these events ,note: we have few gated communities, which in and by itself says something,we are fortunate that in reality we are no where the
level of Florida and other states.
At this point we will have to wait for the final word and for the finger pointing to stop!
What if... It's as his supporters are saying. He was walking back to his truck and the deceased ran at him, punched hin, knocked him down and started banging his head against the pavement. He calls out "Stop" and "help" with no result, so perhaps he pulls out his pistol. The deceased tries to grab it from him, and he shoots the deceased as a result.
Arrestable? Even Stupid?
"Let's face it it was a stupid procedural mistake not to take him into custody and charge him!"
They say they have no evidence of a crime, so why would they charge him?
Let's face it it was a stupid procedural mistake not to take him into custody and charge him!
In that event:
1) He'sentitled to counsel;
2) Miranda
3) As a result of 1 and 2, he is less likely to say more.
4) speedy trial act.
Lots of people get tripped up when they shoot their mouths off many months after the event. Look at Scott Petersen.
I agree TJC that could have been a risk of those things. However would the water be a little less muddy if done so.
And as it turns out the deceased didn't get those things if he was assaulting Mr. Z..
At a minimum if later he is released etc. there is time to amass the response to any unrest.
Butch, all we have at this time is the Police Chiefs thoughts on it ,prior to ,other facts ,coming forth,!
Gee it is reported an investigator wanted charges.
Just to stir the pot a little did we hear at anytime that the deceased was reaching for Z's firearm? That is an element I would like addressed, and possibly changes the event in my mind.
I quess it is different but I have always believed that "Neighborhood Watch " is different from "Neighborhood pursuit", appears 911 operator stressed that also!
Another angle.
The race-baiters, Democrats and LameStreamMedia (tm) have invested a lot in this.
If their complaint turns out to be unjustified - with this cost them political capital and credibility?
Or do they just hit the reset button, forget about it and start over?
Tom not really since any capitol is only situational based , doesn't have much preservative in it,and credibility likewise even though it is even more fragile.
Let's face it the savior in this will be the general publics short attention span.
My wife enjoys Facebook to an extent, though I am not a great fan. She was telling me Monday night that the facebook pages of her friends were solid full of support for Trayvon and disgust for Zimmerman.
Yesterday morning, after the newer pictures of Trayvon, and more about who he really was surfaced, the discussion of the subject totally disappeared from those same pages.
It move from support and condemnation to silence in 12 hrs or so. This will drop off the national radar eventually once it has had its time in the spotlight.
But the underlying racism that has brought much of this to the surface will still be right there waiting for the next event.
WC
Due to the fact that I remember Richard Jewel, I am refraining from joining the media, Al Sharpton and his cronies and the rest of the country in their judgment until after the facts are in. So far, theyre not.
Was that a re-elect the Pres hoodie?
I happened to catch Hannity discussing this situation with Juan Williams and another guy this evening, and an errant thought came to me. Much is being said about expecting Zimmerman to call 911 and let the police handle things, but no one has mentioned that Martin didn't call 911 when/if he felt like Zimmerman was "stalking" him, if indeed that's what he felt. Why is that? Didn't someone say he was talking to his girl friend on his cell phone and he put his hoodie up because he felt threatened somehow? Why didn't he call 911? Did he see a Latino and immediately think it was someone out to mug him?
Hannity said he is leaning toward the idea that this may end up being a situation where both sides made assumptions about the other, and both were wrong. That actually makes some sense....if everyone is telling the truth, couldn't this have been a case of mistaken identity on both sides, with terrible consequences? Sometimes, an accident really is just an accident...but of course if that is the case, this can't be an issue filling headlines during a time when gas is going past $4 a gallon and Obamacare is being decided by the Supreme Court...

Maybe not so much as Drudge is reporting that Zimmerman was a registered democrat. Wow! That puts a different slant on it doesn't it?
