Could have been #6, now you're #34.

Keep electing King and Pinhead. They're already rich. They don't care about working folks.

Fun Fact: Massachusetts Hall

Fun Fact: Massachusetts Hall on the Bowdoin campus was named for the state in which it was built. And the original shutters on the windows have shooting holes near the bottom.

For my money, the lower 1/3rd of the state still is Massachusetts.
How do you think a-holes like King and Pinhead keep getting elected?

The southern third of the state has no monopoly on progressive voters, there are plenty statewide .who just want the free lunch that has been promised.

The flood of Massachusetts

The flood of Massachusetts retirees that has bought up the coast of Maine over the last thirty years is a demographic that is hard to ignore from up here in North Maine.

If one looks at Mass. and

If one looks at Mass. and its' history of questionable politicians then it is easy to see why John "the Earl of Eagle Lake" keeps getting elected also.

When you look at voting

When you look at voting records, the Earl of Eagle Lake is more middle of the road than some of the legislators from the mid-coast and Portland area.

It's eye-opening to see this block of progressive legislators.

Oh , I agree Bluejay. The

Oh , I agree Bluejay. The question becomes how to offset it.
An honest assessment would show issues on both sides that have not helped in doing so.

Some of the more conservative

Some of the more conservative folks I know and have met are 'from away" they were trying to escape the mess to the south. Some of the most left wing progressives I know are born and bred right here in Maine….again the lure of the free lunch.

In my area there are many that are former creatures of Washington DC. They tend to think of taxpayer money as there to provide whatever they damn well like.

In my area a bunch of the away people were unhappy where they were so they moved here and want to bring all the crap they had with them no matter what the cost to the natives.
I have to confess that I'm from away but I came here because I liked what I saw and didn't want to change it.

Many that move here are trying to escape something or other.
They usually bring it with them.
